<DIV>Please note***all lvs 1-45 are Pre-Dof/EoF</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Ok--since so many people are complaining on how hard it is to be a paladin-thought I'd try to make a reasonably decent guide on leveling and being good at your class.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>**Please Note** All levels before 45 are pure speculation based on experiance with class at the time-I do know hte new mob encouters however-and have based them off of my expeirance as a Paladin at the lowbie levels.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Levels 1-8 (Queens Colony)</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>SO-your a Paladin on the noob island--CONGRATS!! Don't worry that you only have Faithful Swing and Taunt-you get some cool stuff in a level. SO-you go and talk to Murrar Shar. DING-- congrats-your level 2! Now you have Righteous Anger-go ahead and start using that!! </DIV> <DIV>Murrar sends you off the the fighting trainer. While RA (Righteous Anger) does more than FS (Faithful Swing) FS DOES heal you for 2 points of health. Well-2 points is S***--well-kinda-but none the less it's usefull at your level. </DIV> <DIV>At the fighting trainer-go through the chat blah blah blah-and take your pick of the sparring parters. The 1up arrowed one is challenging and fun-the middle one with no arrows is medium and ok-the down arrowed one is a sissy and boring. (I'm going to take the one up arrowed). Make sure to not start your fight on auto attack-use RA. Not only does RA do 4-7 points of anger-it interupts your target (interupting=stops an opponent's casting and/or attack for a second). Now you might think on using FS right after RA-dont-save it for a few seconds-let your nice big hammar attack your sparring parter for a few seconds. At about 10 seconds after using RA use FS. Now that you have used both attacks-what do you do? You sit there for another 10 seconds while RA becomes useable again. As soon as RA is available use it. Same for FS when it becomes usable. Use this process until you have defeated your opponent.</DIV> <DIV>Return to the fighting trainer and go through the chat blah blah blah. Then return to Murrar. DING-GRATS-your level 3!! Enjoy Prayer of Healing!! (I know it's a group heal-but for now let's consider it as your main heal [will be calling it PH]). AND A NEW ARMOR PIECE--well what the hell are you waiting for-put it on. Nice. Now head over the the fields that Murrar showed you to go to. </DIV> <DIV>Talk to the dude there and get through the chat. Ok-so you gotta go kill some goblins. (These gobbys are the first of many you will face and kill). </DIV> <DIV>So-go over the barricade and start waying waste to the number of goblins he told you to kill. Bing bang boom-your done-well your thinking to head back to the guard person--NO!!! Stay in the field killing whatever you like (STAY IN THAT FIELD-DONT STRAY OUT OF IT JUST YET) until you reach level 4 (really easy-each kill is about 3-5 percent). CONGRATS-YOUR LEVEL 4!! Enjoy your brand new fighting stances (the first of many in your career ar a paladin). </DIV> <DIV>Now you like Courageousness don't you- the increase of INT and STR by 11.6-and the additions to slashing/crushing/peircing...Well-save it for grouping when your NOT THE TANK. We want Knight's Defence. Now I understand if you all think I'm a loon for chosing the decreasment in slashing/crushing/peircing. Well-look at this- Knight's Defence gives you a WIS increase of 11.6 (WIS=wisdom=more resists to elements/poisons/diseases/ect.) it increases your defence by 1.6 (I know it's small-but as a tank in the front lines- all it take is 1 point to turn a victory into a defeat-and vice versa) there is also the +34 mitagation to all physical damage (MIT=you get hit less harder) and-a MIT bonus to Divine and Magic by 135!</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Anyway-go with the Knight's Defence for now-and head back to the guard-he sends you back out to find the dead bodies of the scouts in the fields you were just in (you may have seen them in your leveling) and you need to basically get close enough to step on the body-when a Undead rises and attacks you! Well-that shouldnt be a problem in your nice new defence stance. SO-take down the undead and head back to the guard-who sends you back to Murrar. Well-I'm going to assume you didn't level to level 5 yet-but you get a new peice of armor! YAY-equip it already you dolt :smileytongue:! Now-I hope that you have been looting your kills while on your level spree in the field-hopfully you have near 10s by now-or have stuff in your inventory like goblin ears/ect.-maybe even a chest item or two. Sell them to the quarter master by Murrar to the left if your standing opposed to Murrar. If you havn't made 10s at least in that get your [Removed for Content] back in the field and start making some $$$. Either way- I'll assume you have about 10 or so silver on you. Time to say good bye to your hammar for now. After selling the junk loot off of your kills-buy a Tower Shield (Probably TIn). After that-buy a sword/axe/spear-whatever you prefer (JUST MAKE SURE IT IS A 1 HANDED WEAPON!!!!!). Now-open your inventory and equip your shield and new weapon. Yay-see that your mitagation went up! Nice!!</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Anyway-head up to wher Murrar told you to go (the tainted forest I believe it is-forgot) and speak to the dude with the book over his head. After you've done his chat-talk to the girl standing next to him-and accept the quest. Now-you need goblin poachers and spiders. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Unfortunatly here-I'm gonna have to call it the end of the Guide to Paladins Part 1 due to time of night (2Am hehe). </DIV> <DIV>I hope that some noob paladins are encouraged to look at this (and even some of the more advanced) and comment-concern-suggestions-critisism ect. But I hope you like it all the same :smileyhappy:!! G'nite for now-And I hope I'll have Pt.2 finished with the Queen's Colony and maybe into the Adventure Yards Tommarow--er today--err you know hwat I mean!!!</DIV>

<BR><BR> <BLOCKQUOTE> <HR> Canel wrote:<BR> <DIV>Please note***all lvs 1-45 are Pre-Dof/EoF</DIV></BLOCKQUOTE> <P>Ok-I'm back to help all you noob Pallys out again :smileyvery-happy:...Ok where'd we leave off-ah ya- Tainted Forest---</P> <P> </P> <P>Ok- so you need goblin poachers and spiders. Let's get those spiders first. Armed with Knight's Stance, FS and RA they shouldn't be a large problem. </P> <P>So, head off to the right (if you see any goblin poachers--well what the hell-go take them down! But anyway-you'll see spiders if you hug the right wall. They come in solos or in 2-groups. Don't worry about the 2 groups-they're blue and weak. So you need tooooo--what was that....that's right....kill them. So start punding at them! They should go down nice and quick. You get a piece of parchment. Read it--blah blah blah- more spiders. Go killlum. DONE!! Read the next piece of parchment. So... there's something going on by the rock formation in the back of the area where you were hunting.. go check it out. Go stand right next to the rocks, and a clickable should appear on the ground. Get it-read it. OK--time for your first named encouter. Stand next to the rocks, and the named spider should pop. Engage him with RA-then start wailing on him. This fight just use FS whenever it comes available (along with RA). If you get too low on health- well you got a heal now. Use PH when you get below the point of green and yellow. Ok-dead spider and a chest drops. Well-you're not a scout so just wait a bit if your low on health hten open the chest. Just a junk piece of a stabber-thingy. (Selling...) Head back to the girl and report your findings. Yay-quest done--equip your new earing. (See that +5 poison resists-just one of many items you will find in your careear). She gives you another quest-take it. So you gotta go talk to a old sapling dude. </P> <P>Head about 1 o'clock of your position and you should find yourself by the right-most wall of the spider area-if you end up by the spidys just head upwards to a little cove-the sapling is quite visible. Now in order to talk to him-you need to adjust your camra angle upwards. Get through the chat-blah blah blah and now you need to kill some treants. Head upwards of you position till you find the right ones, then RA,FS and PH your way through them. When done-head back to the old treant. He tells you to go see a Sapswill Soothsayer (or something like that). Well-hold off on that for a while.</P> <P>Go kill the goblin poachers if you haven't already. Then head back to the dude that Murrar sent you too. He tells you he needs sticks to make arrows. You can get these sticks by harvesting the log piles around the spiders. Go do that. When you return them to him-he sends you back to Murrar. Head back. </P> <P>(I'm going to assume that you are about level 5 by now [if you're not-just kill around the Tainted Forest for a little while]). Well Congrats on level 5!! Now you have Kick-an attack that does a whoping 15 points of damage. And with a 10 second recast as well!! Nice.</P> <P> When you get back to Murrar-Yay! Another armor piece. Put it on. Now he tells you to see a Templar-person-lady north of the field of the barracades.<BR></P> <P>So head to the Templar-lady and get through the chat. So you gotta go pull some of the spirits wandering about back to her. Well-this a simple deal of attacking them-then running back to the lady. Rinse, wash, repeat till your quota is done (If she isin't rezzing when they get near-relog). Then she tells you to head off and kill some Moraks (basically wolves). </P> <P>These are upward of where you are currently. So head up the road. These are the first of thousands of mobs that will be aggro (be outlined in red) to you. This means you will be attacked as soon as you come near (different mobs have different aggro ranges). But before you kill Moraks- go talk to the shrimp over by the tree to the left of the road (if there are Moraks by the trees then kill them then look up and right click the shrimp thats holding onto the tree). Talk to him blah blah blah and accept the quest. Now you need 4 and 5 Moraks .Well-more's the better for more xp. Kill the 5 Moraks, then go talk to the shrimp again. Again-another 5 Moraks and you need to see Sapswill hill and forgot the other place. THese should both be on your map. Once you get your updates-head back to the shrimp and talk to him. Then he gives you a Diplomatic Gift that you need to give to the Sapswill Soothsayer (hrmm just like hte old treant told you too). But first head back to the Templar-lady. She sends you off to a wizzard by all hte aggro goblins on the far side of the area where you needed to get the location updates for the shrimp. Basically just follow the right hand wall up all the way and you should find his camp easy enough. </P> <P>Once again- I am going to assume you leveled and now your Level 6-Grats! (if you didn't level just hunt the goblins and Moraks in the general area by the wizzie (or squishy as I will call him [cloth wearers=squishies]). Now you have Intervene-a Combat Art only really good for when your not Main tank and assisting the MT. Anyway the squishy wants you to knock over some totems in the enemy camps. Well-easy enough you just run around the area (getting chased by all htese mobs) and knock them over. IF you feel that your getting too many mobs-head back to the squishy's camp and that should chase the rest of them off you. When you knock over three totems return to the squishy. The squishy tells you to kill the Dark Blademaster (name seems hard RL of it is wussy). He insta-pops right in the mist by the main tent on the hill in front of the camp. Kill him-and a new shield drops. If it's better than the one you have-equip it. Return ot the squishy. The squishy sends you off to see the Chief Goblin by the tree house. He tells you how to get there.</P> <P>Once you get to the tree house-there are goblins yes-but nice ones. Head up the ramp by Doug and Gurg and talk ot hte soothsayer there. Double quest update!! (Going to assume you dung-once again) Grats on level 7!! Divine Circle is and AoE (Area of Effect) attack that heals you as well. Only use this when there are no mobs except the ones you're fighting are around. It's also got a nice heal attached. Anyway. Talk to the soothsayer twice for you updates. The shrimp's update give you the torn scout pants. Since they're leather they shouldnt be an upgrade-only NPC sellable to you. Tthis should open up a new quest where you just have to go talk to alot of nice goblins. The old treant's update tells you to go harvest roots-and go to the various waterfalls around the island (once again should be dysplayed on your map). Talk to the cheif to get your Murrar quest line update. He tells you to go to a cave-we'll wait on that for a few.</P> <P>Let's focus on the gobling talking quest. From the tree house-head toward the river near the waterfall and well head toward the waterfall not facing the harbor. By the waterfall (this is also an update for the Treant's quest) there are all these NPC goblins. Talk to all of them-then head back to Doug and Gurg-then the chief-then the soothsayer. Grats on the Diplomat's Badge and a done quest. Now for the Treant's. You shouldve already gotten that waterfall update. Well-head back to the area-then head back as if you were going to the squishy again and make a detour when you get around the corner in the river to see another waterfall. Get close to it and it should ding you. Then head back to the treehouse and take a right if you were facing the ramp. The bridge should be guarded but probably you can get away with the aggro goblins not aggroing you. There is a waterfall past that bridge that is guarded and edge close to the edge of the waterfall. It should ding your quest journal before you have to fall off the waterfall. Then head back to the soothsayer. Yay! You got a fix to the poison! A bag and a drink <img src="/smilies/69934afc394145350659cd7add244ca9.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> Na just some stuff thats handy once you get off the Colony. Anyway- if you're not 8 already hunt around the tree house untill you are. </P> <P>Ding-level 8! Now you have Blinding Rays- a group encounter (it targets all the mobs that come in a targeted group) taunt-and a divine debuff. Sorry that I didn't state before-but Paladin attacks are basically strictly divine. This debuff will help your attacks greatly.</P> <P>Well-now that you're level 8-time to go into the cave the chief was talking about. Head up along the wall that the nice goblins were about and there should be an outcropping with mist coming out of it. Enter.</P> <P>Well-start knocking over totems (go for the ones right next to Vith on her right and left hand sides of the platform. Once you knock over 2- mobs should pop (which are easy enough [if they don't then thats a plus]). Then knock over one that's near the door on the right or left hand side. Once that's knocked over- for sure mobs pop and you need to kill them. Vith goes on screaming but isint aggroable just yet. Knock over the last one, and she does become attackable. She pops two healer mobs. Go for them first. RA, FS, (now is a time to use Divine Circle over and over) and PH. When hte first add is dead-go for the 2nd one. When that's dead-go for Vith. Vith is really easy actually-and she goes down easy. When she's dead-her pet dies too. Loot her chest for a legendary necklace that can replace your Diplomat's Badge and make it vendor $$. Head back out and back to Murrar. Grats! Your "offically" done with the Queen's Colony. If you want-you can solo down here for a bit-but I'm not going to cover that here. Head out by the directions given to Murrar to the Far Journy. Talk to the captain-get through the chat--AND OFF TO QEYNOS WE GOO!!! </P> <P> </P> <P>Ok-gonna stop here for the night. If anyone has add ons they'd like to say-please feel free ect ect. Hope that maybe if you guys see noob pallys havin trouble to refer this to them :smileyvery-happy:. </P> <P>Unfortunatly won't be able to post till next week on this due to gonna be away-till then cyas!</P>
