If I'm not totally misinformed I think the caps are (you level *7) +20. At 70 that would make the cap 510 to all stats.

/Jor

Close, but not quite accurateThe 'soft cap' is (level*7) or 490 at level 70The 'hard cap' is (level*7 + racial starting ability), for humans who start with every stat at 20 the hard cap is 510... if however you start with a lower or higher statistic this figure changesThe amount of benifit it gives between the hard and soft caps is reduced however (for instance if 1 wis gives 3 points to all your resists, between the hard and soft cap, 1 wis would only give 2 or even only 1 to all your resists)A general rule of thumb however which I prefer to go by is get your stats to just over 500. In groups or raid your statsistics can go quite overboard (790 intelligence once for my fury <-- stupid) but as long as you are over 490 (500 looks far cooler though ) you can consider yourself to be 'at the cap'.

But while there is a cap it is still better to go higher if you can. If you happen to fight a mob that debuffs then the higher stats will help mitiigate the loss.

Thanks, this is good info. The reason I ask is that last night I was in labs, and my STR was 610 and INT 492. I was pretty happy with that, but then did STR and INT potions for another 66 to each, bringing them up to 676 and 558 and so I was really wondering if this did anything for me to get up higher since. But I was silly and got distracted and forgot to write down my stats before and after for comparison.

The second one should overwrite the first. If they do then it's a bug (and a great one!) but make sure you're not just getting an icon and that it's really giving you the stat.

Add your base nuber to 490 and that is your exact hard cap.
