<DIV>...its a good thing mobs can't get adventure exp for killing players, because I swear my KvD is about 2:1. Granted, when I get slapped around by a ^^^ creature, I always go back for round 2... and 3... and sometimes 4, but should I be able to handle Green ^^^ named or low blue ^^^ monsters as a Paladin?</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>And why the $^&* does "Silence" stop my CAs?</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Hakanek</DIV> <DIV>Unrest</DIV> <DIV> </DIV>

<DIV>I'm level 47 right now and it's been very difficult to solo trip up greens, though it has gotten a lot easier now that I have mastercrafted armor. I still can't win all the time, and when I do, it is still very close. My problem has been DPS, and not being able to drop them fast enough. Most of money has been put into upgrading my taunts and defensive capabilities, so all of my offensive skills are at App IV or Adept Is.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I would be interested to know if you level 70s can solo heroic greens, as I would think their HP and damage output would begin to increase more exponentially at the higher levels.</DIV>

<DIV>When soloing try going offensive stance and 2H. You usually end with more mana then you would in defensive. I would also recommend starting out with a ward before the pull. Will give you some time up front.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>On tough solo mobs I typically preward. Use one or two long range attacks then get down to business. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>You mention killing heroics. There are numerous threads about heroics so I'm not gonna go into any detail here but generally speaking heroics are meant to be killed by groups. They will be tough fights, but you can do them. Just keep trying different strats until you feel comfortable.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>By all means upgrade your spells to adept 3. They make a big difference.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I can usually handle green and blue heroics without much of an issue but I do have a good amount of T7 Fabled gear to help so I may not be the best to judge against if you are a pure soloer.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Try out some things and let us know how things work out.</DIV>

I have about half fabled and half legendary gear and about half Master spells the rest Adept III. I solo non-heroic mobs just fine. In fact I can solo large groups of them with Consecrate, Hammer Ground and Castigate. People walking by will sometimes shoot me a tell complimenting me when they see the large pile of bodies at my feet.</P> <P>I can kill a 67/68^^^ one on one but it will be a close fight. By close I mean I used my emergency heal, the crappy emergency heal, maybe the death ward thing. I will have used my manastone several times, tossed off a number of heals, quaffed a clarity potion and I'll have to use the bug zapper thing from Bonemire to deal the killing blow. If I get an add I'm dead.</P> <P>There are classes that routinely take heroics solo but we're not one of them. </P> <P>As a group MT, or even group DPS I rock. <DIV>Hex Dolls I have not used, but I will definitely give them a shot now. Do they stack, or can onyl one Hex be on an enemy at a time?Of what signigicance is level of the doll?</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Also, are there any items out there that inflict damage? All I have found is powerful bear claws and honestly they arent that fantastic.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Hakanek</DIV>

Lower Attack speed, and Lower Mit. Personally I still use a lvl 40 Hex doll, the str one if i remeber right. And I find it lands 95%+ of the time on the mobs I pull it with. I usualy pull sothis with it, just because, and don't think I have ever had it not Land. /shrug. I know a lvl 40 doll should have a harder time landing but /shrug I don't see it that way.

<DIV>I find I solo better with a sword and board, but in offensive stance, it keeps my avoidance up, but allows be decent DPS and increases my power (alot more STR) and letsme hit the mobs more. at lvl 70, I 'can' DPS upwards of 350 on mobs that dont stun alot. This also works well on green and lower blue heroics. I can solo most 66 ^^^s and up to 69 groups (groups are really easy for us, we are very strong in AOE ability)</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Remember to preward.</DIV> <DIV>Pull with Hex dolls (dont cost power, and they debuff the mob some for ya)</DIV> <DIV>Use mastery abilities when applicable</DIV> <DIV>If you can, get your hands on some flowing thought items. some to consider are MOA for lvl 70s, leggiscon? ( for lower 60s-70, ranged slot) and I picked up a pair of pally boots in a DOF raid with 460 mit and FT3. brings me up to flowing though 12 when solo. it helps a bit</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>adds can really mess up our day though, as anyone tryin to solo.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>The gear I use while soloing is my tank gear, not my DPS, I find I do better if I keep up some of my mitigation.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>BTW this is all for heroics. for solo, pull out all your DPS gear, as long as it is heay armor, and your two hander, and lay waste! </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>And DONT FORGET to use HOs when soloing.</DIV>

<DIV>Not only do I have a breeze killing green^^^, but I have no problem what so ever killing green Named. I have mostly Master spells, mostly fabled which I'm sure helps a bunch. I have max spell and melee crit, and many points into haste for my AA's. I whip out my strongest 2H, go complete offensive and I will just slaughter the heriocs well before they can kill me. I also have my str at max, int near max. I will parse about 500-600 dps, a little less on named. Only once in a great while will I actually have to heal. I can finish the fight against underconned green named with half my health and power.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I find it best to kill them fast before they have a chance to kill you.</DIV>

<P>That HEX doll was a great idea, worked like a charm (pun intended). I can't seem to put together the DPS yet to pull off the full offensive strategy, but maybe with some AAs that will work better. Also, Consecrate is awesome... just got that lol=)</P> <P>I have a lot of trouble getting out of a losing fight... I mean, I can usually tell pretty quick if I'm going down or not, and as a Paladin its bad enough to run away in the first place... but then to be cut down from behind? Ouch. My horse gives +24%, but it really doesn't seem to be enough especially considering every mob and its grandmother has snare, mute, and 14 stuns.</P> <P>Hakanek</P> <P>Unrest</P>

How do you have your int near max? I can't find enough gear with int on it in the legendary and fabled types...<BR> <BLOCKQUOTE> <HR> Mgunner wrote:<BR> <DIV>Not only do I have a breeze killing green^^^, but I have no problem what so ever killing green Named. What you can do will depend on equipmnent and spell quality. But some tips are general.Always keep your group taunt in use - it debuffs divine damage, i.e. your damage.Use hex dolls to pull/debuff.If mob is a nuke/heal caster, use interrupts when you see them about to cast.If you take too much damage in off stance, try off stance with 1h and shield, for the extra avoidance. If you still take too much, tough it out in def stance and melee and ward, just takes a while <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />If toughing it out, just use the two stun/knockdown attacks to interrupt their spells.Fighting a caster in def stance is much easier due to the big WIS bonus in that stance.Use your manastone - if you don't have one, get the starter for the HQ off Stiletto in TSGood luck!<p>Message Edited by Turb0T on <span class=date_text>08-02-2006</span> <span class=time_text>03:23 PM</span>

Mastercrafted belt that has +23 int, SC BP that has +int, Helm of the Vindicator has +int, etc. I have quite a few jewelry pieces that are fabled. I'm not quite at max, but I'm closer to about 475 without giving up to much mit. With high Int, and 8 ranks in spell crit, 8 points in melee crit, and remaining points in melee haste, paladins can parse pretty high. Bracelot in Crab instance has +38 int or something like that. <BR>

<P>I find a lot of the time that while I can comfortably beat a certain level ^^ mob, I will be easily defeated by a group of 2-3 at the same level with the same ^^ rating. Do the up and down arrows apply to the entire encounter, or each individual mob in the encounter? Meaning a group of 3 skeletons that are 50^^ is literally 3 level 50^^ mobs, or just 3 mobs whose combined abilities should equal a single 50^^ creature?</P> <P>In a multiple mob encounter, when you are solo, is it better to knock out caster mobs in a certain order? I habitually go after the healers, but a lot of the time a chanter will have me silenced or something, and without the stuns I can't seem to knock out the healer anyway. Are healer mobs mor eprone to heal themselves, or other mobs in their group as priority?</P> <P>Hakanek</P>

<DIV> Its all about the gear- I can just about take down a 70^^^ solo. Be smart and pay attention to your mana-also the int line is the best IMHO. Adept 3's and master will make this game easier to solo as well.</DIV>
