<DIV>Just a good natured post to see what high melee hits fellow pallies have done lately and with what weapon.  I use to like using the kettleleader's katana for a high melee hit but i like the ghostly axe of blyze currently posting 2,147 points of damage soloing in Bonemire.  Will test in raid and group situation to see how high i can go.  So, go ahead and post what you have to give fellow paladins a goal on damage, heheh...<img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></DIV>

I know this is an old post but had a question on highest hits. Highest Melee: 1,560Highest Magic: 34,305How did I hit that high with magic? I have seen RoF (Adept III) crit in the 2k range but nowhere near this. Not trying to brag, but what surprised me after noticing how high I hit was that I am ranked 15th on our server for paladins, so 14 other paladins have hit for higher then 34k.  I assume it was while I was raiding but didn't think crits could do that so there must be something I am missing.  I thought it must be a HO but on the new eqplayers it shows HO damage and I have a mere 756.Any info would be great as I would like to hit these kind of numbers again.<div></div>

<div></div>I didn't think they did it that way either but couldn't understand how paladins could be hitting that hard.  Steel clarified it from the <span>Mithaniel</span><span>Marr</span><span>Diety</span> quest though which makes sense.  I wish they didn't update our stats from those quests though. Although it is pretty cool saying I hit something for 34k, it isn't accurate to my character and now I don't have a number to try to push past anymore. I like checking that after raids to see how I did but I don't imagine that will be changed until some other quest that has something similar.<div></div>

I like checking that after raids to see how I did but I don't imagine that will be changed until some other quest that has something similar.<BR> <BR> <HR> </BLOCKQUOTE>Yeah, for those that had fun playing last year's frostfall event and using the buggy elfin satchel with the deadly snowballs(wish i could have kept that as a harmless snowball thrower to pelt that Nathan Ironforge).  I saw a nice magic hit that i at first was confused with a refusal nuke hit.  I missed the boat when you could get a high magic hit exploding mobs/people with splitpaw barrels.  I think in a couple of weeks, my guild is going to revisit the gates of ahket and i am going to try the spine of atrium on the named and see if it still credits a insane amount of damage...<img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /><BR>

Not only am I a gimpy pally...I am also a cheap pally...lol...I can only tell you that my highest melee is 2,375...since I only have the basic EQ package I can't tell ya what it's from....my highest magic damage is 8,523, again...dunno from where or what...surprised me it was that high.

Holy necro post Batman!!!  The spine of the atrium(spelling) is a jewler crafted in zone item you make that requires a rare(pearl) some fuel and a spine that drops off the snake mob at the beginning of the zone.   The finished product is then a symbol that is a clickie you use on the end mob and if you have a high crit% you can hit the last mob for 65% or more of his total health in magic damage.  All depends your crit percentage and +spell damage as the native hit is 50% of the target's health.  If you need details on it, i believe eqraidmobs has a description or maybe raidwiki on what is needed when.  It is in the tier 6 raid zone gates of ahket(sp).
