Can anybody explain why this weapon is guardian/zerker only? Oversight or intended? Dropped last night from Harla and was pretty sad to see it go to the zerker (like he needs another 2 hander...

Message Edited by dubbs on 05-11-2006 05:10 AM

Nice axe. That is just so wrong it is warrior only. Don't tell the dwarf pallies, they'll have a fit.

Very nice weapon, but...1. Not for Paladin / Shadowknight...beign a dwarven paladin I really dislike this2. The Hp / Power is pretty low for a 2 hander

Coming from a dwarven paladin the health/power could be better, but i would take the weapon tho. In my opinion, the weapon type should be the restriction to who can use it not the whims of whatever developer decided it should only be this class or no. If you wanted it restricted, make it a item type that favors those classes. If it is a 2 hander axe it should be usuable by the 4 plate tanks, if it was changed to a dual wield axe it would be more favorable to warriors than crusaders. This is certainly not the only weapon that makes no sense on its classes and will not be the last.

Sometimes there are lore related reasons for class restrictions. Like the Holy Avenger of Goody-Two Shoes may be restricted to good aligned people or even just paladins. But I see no lore based reason for that weapon to be warrior only. As far as mechnics go I don't see much anything either.

They don't want us to use it with our strenght line and maybe do half the dps a zerker (which can tank better than us) would do. That's the reason why there aren't any good T7 2h Axes out there (Stoneblade of the titan being another example of Warrior only 2h axe).

I am going with "totally random". I expect for a lot of game content the Devs just basically have a Mad Libs. Axe of __(Verb)__ +50 Health +50 Power, __(Oldest Child age) STR, __(last digit of SSN)STA, 14__(stat), 3__(stat), Recommended Level of (Age lost viriginity). Roll 2d6 to determine class useage.

Out of curiosity, has that axe from harla been changed yet to be used by crusaders or is it still warrior only? I am at work so i cant link it and tell in game if it has been changed. Has other axes been changed to allow us to use also? For now i appease my dwarf instincts by useing the ghostly axe of blyze for giggles.

time and time again the devs said they read the /feedback a lot. I would encourage all crusaders to /feedback on why we can't use this (and other) good 2h axe.

I'm beginning to wonder if they really do read the /feedback

On a Troll, the axe is HUGE.

crusaders can use it too. I got one a week or two ago. The axe blade is about as big as my chars torso. The only thing Im wishing for now is for them to change the Doomrage armor to alow crusaders to wear.Lack of t7 pants anyone?

These things drive me crazy. Crusaders just miss out by being somewhere in between Cleric and Warrior. We should get in on one side or the other's action.

http://i108.photobucket.com/albums/n30/benstrik/blackscalemaul.jpg

Message Edited by Vathranen on 07-28-2006 02:29 PM

In all honesty the Gem Inlaid Crescent Axe from Venekor in HoS is better; has 20% or so haste on it, plus it has FT1 (yeah...FT1...but hey, power regen's power regen)...and a damage rating of 106-107 something...plus it gives +5 slashing and +5 parry, which is an added bonus...I used it all the time till I got my Qeynos Claymore...and my God, I wouldn't trade that 2 handed sword for the world...if I can get 10% more avoidance with other items, I can easily tank raid nameds / bosses with the Qeynos Claymore as if I had a sword and shield lol...

But back on subject, just keep your eyes open for the GICA from Venekor, or the Axe of the Overlord which also drops in HoS (although the AoE hate proc might get you in trouble if you're not the MT lol)...those are 2 badass 2 handed axes that I know of that we can use...

Message Edited by Sabrekongol on 07-28-2006 03:45 PM
