<DIV>Crusader squires can (well, used to be able to) riposte melee area of effect attacks for a small amount of damage, but mostly they just get in the way in combat.</DIV>

<DIV>There is a non-fluff 48^^ Golem that everyone can get. There was a quest introduced not that long ago in Sol Eye that provides a 5use summon for this pet. I understand the quest is a lot of trouble, so I never did it to only get a 5use pet, though any ^^ non-fluff pet is pretty nice.</DIV>

Our squire can do damages because I saw it once get aggro on one of the mobs i was fighting solo. Not saying that u can attack with him or that its DPS is valuable in a fight, what happened was really exceptionnal and made me laugh hard (i laughed harder when he died just after getting aggro).<div></div>

<DIV>So I have been trying this Squire out and he has not caused any damage to mobs, even when he was hit with an area effect spell. He just took a stance and looked angry, but never hit a mob.<BR> </DIV> <DIV>Also, I could not cast any group spells that i would not have already been able to cast. I read on another post that I was supposed to be able to cast AoH on my self when the squire was up. No luck with that. <BR></DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>This Squire is a complete waste of Gold, as he has NO benefit. This is not to say that maybe they didn’t have a benefit at one time and then SOE "nerfed" them, I just was not able to get them to do any thing that would help me in ANY way. Not even a waypoint on the map, as the squire did not show up. He wont even agro anything! I put him in a spot where thing should have aggro’ed on a normal pet or person.. nothing. (going to keep an eye on him.. he must be collaborating with the enemy!)<BR></DIV> <DIV>I think that they should give at least some small benefit to the squire and the SK equivalent. The horse gave us a 10% run speed enhancement, why not give us some thing with the squire.. some ideas,<BR></DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>1.) Pack mule, Have him carry food or other items for us. If he dies that would be a problem though... unless he carried summoned food or something. Still I wouldn’t mind having him carry stuff for me. I could make him carry all that foraged garden stuff for me. <BR></DIV> <DIV>2.) Mender, have him be able to heal us a little; he does have mana, put it to use!<BR></DIV> <DIV>3.) Damage, At least a little, doesn’t have to be much as he/she is a squire. Just give him some use!<BR></DIV> <DIV>4.) <P>heh.. balancing.. (the game will never be balance, everyone has their own opinion what "Balanced" means in terms of how powerful and the ability's of the classes) Anyhow, Yea I know.. it will never happen.. but the idea of a fluff spell is kinda stupid.. it cost 3 gold and some change for a useless spell... especially a useless pet. <P>Um... the point of fluff spells is just that... fluff. They aren't MEANT to do anything. You think the wardens little "surround the mob in leaves" spell is useful? Or the fury's "Fairy fire" that puts  green flame around you? How about the guardians and their big tar monster? Nope, no benefit. It just so happens our "fluff" spell is in the form of a pet. Same spell, different look.</P> <P>GET OVER IT!</P>

<P>As far as halo goes... that's lvl 50... not a halo... but Hand of Bayle.  Holy Aura from your hand.</P> <P>As far as the squire's characteristics being choosable or him/her singing ballads and such......</P> <P>Characteristics:  It would be cool to be able to choose them... but then... it's a pet... no one can change how their pet looks... not even conjurors (they can summon a different pet, but its a different spell).  I kind of like it at random, because it is always a surprise what you are going to get.  Only thing I wish is that it didn't re-randomize when you zone.</P> <P>Singing Ballads:  That would get old and annoying after the first 30 minutes <img src="/smilies/283a16da79f3aa23fe1025c96295f04f.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></P>

They need to sing a song whenever we run away <span>:smileytongue:</span>.Anyway, we're kind of lucky since our horse fun spell actually does something. Even though it's a 10% speed buff which isn't useful after getting JB or carpet, it's still good for those levels up to that.My point is, enjoy what you have now, so what the squire doesn't do anything, big deal.<div></div>

<DIV>A use for the squire:</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>He can be told to hold a position. So you can do /petname "Camping" and leave him down the hall in a dungeon where other players will see him so they know you're camping something in the next room.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>It's a stretch. I really had to think hard to come up with that.</DIV>
