PvP Pally: 1 Hander vs 2 Hander

Up to this point I've been a strong believer in a one handed weapon and a shield because I play on a PvP server.  With the shield I get another stun/bash and I have the extra stats + protection but my DPS is well, not so great so I've been thinking more and more about getting a nice two handed weapon.Currently I have the Ghoulbane + the Pristine Imbued level 30 Shield.Oh right now I'm 38, close to 39.Any insight or suggestions?<div></div>

Look at increasing your intelligence, it will raise your spell damage as well as wapon proc damage.<div></div>

<DIV>I run my paladin depending on situation.. when Im solo I run with the Electrified Bone Bladed Claymore on Offensive stance... If Im duoing with say a dps class of some type or a healer, I go with my 2hander on defensive stance... I only really break out my 1hander and shield when Im tanking for a group, or  soloing/duoing a heroic mobs... Also.. just as a side note.. whenim duoing or soloing with 1hander and shield im normally in my offensive stance.. since the shield makes up for the avoidance loss of being in offensive... but If im in a group, im 1hander/shield, defensive stance all the way.</DIV>

Well, I am a 70 paladin on Nagafen ( pvp server ) First of all, stay FAR away from trying to increase Intelligence. Intelligence is a hard as hell skill to raise and most high int equipment is mage based. Not to mention paladins have hardly any spells compared to combat arts. At your level, I think it would be best to focus your abilitys on tanking and not damage. Paladins are just not great damage dealers to begin with, at low to mid levels they are probbaly at one of their DD low points. For PVPing you want to roam arround in a nice team with two dd's and a healer, you just keep the aggro off them and they can do the damage for you. <font color="#ff3300">If you absolutly have to do damage</font> in a one on one situation, you want to get a nice rare crafted two handed axe and take the STR AA line. The STR AA line has haste and very nice direct damage. If you really want to crank it up, you will want to get a 2h Axe and a 2h spear. Put the spear and the axe on your short cut bar, they will fit in there just like skills. When you fire off your axe damage skills and haste buffs, you can slap on your spear and use the AGI line spear direct damage skills while keeping the axe based haste on you. Keep swaping back and fourth when your DD skills are up and you should be able to drop people pretty quickly. <div></div>

Well the problem is, that I'm not rich by any means thus can only go one way in tems of weaponery at the present moment.  I just turned my 39th this afternoon and purchased a Rallosian Steel One hander.<div></div>

You don't have to be rich to harvest, go mine some ebon clusters for a ebon 2h axe and 2h spear. Rallosian Steel one hander is a horrible choice if you are trying to increase damage because no paladin aa's that are worth crapping on use a sword. If you wont harvest and can't afford certian wepons to use AA skills you just arn't going to do any damage untill you are 70 and can raid for the needed weapon types. <div></div>

That is good if I was on a PvE server, but that's not the case here.I'll be solo'ing, duo'ing, grouping and have the right tools for the job and then we'll get jumped by a group of Freeps.  Now I don't have enough time to go through my bags and find the correct weapon to use, if I'm in a group I'm flying over and taunting off our healer, in duo's same thing (I duo with a fury) and if I'm solo'ing I'm moving around to find out just who my attacker is.  If I spend the time to go through my bags to find the weapon I should use for PvP I'm dead.  Thus I need a weapon that's sorta a jack of all trade.<div></div>

I'm going to guess you missed when i said "Put the spear and the axe on your short cut bar, they will fit in there just like skills"You can put equipment in your hot bars, you know the bar you put your skills in? They fight right in there too and you can swap equipment with out even haveing to open a bag. <div></div>

For standard PvP, have to agree that 1h + shield is the right move.  The added boost to parry and the additional stun coupled with whatever other stats your shield gives you is too much to miss out on.The best "boost" to damage I have noticed has been from maxing spell damage criticals in the INT line - you can not argue witha 68% chance to critical.BTW, any other PvP pallies out there loving the L65 "Castigate" spell? <span>:smileyhappy:   No longer are a pile of red flashing DoTs an "Oh god not again" situation, more a "Quick lads, get more on!".  *Zortch*</span>Faster refresh please!!!<div></div>

Well I tested this 1 Hander vs 2 Hander this past week. About a week and a half ago I got my hands on the Achon Flail (I think that's what it's called, it's the fabled level 40 2 hand crushing weapon) and in PvP combat my Level 30 Shield + Ghoulbane does more in battles then my 2 hander (I'm 41 atm now).  The extra stun from the shield is just too helpful in PvP to give it up. So now my new question is I need to find the highest damage one handed weapon for my level, anyone rec. some good ones? <div></div>
