Pallys in pvp:As a pally in pvp there is really no way to catch anyone, if they simply turn around and run the fact that they turned and ran 1 second earlier than you means you really have no chance to catch them...and i'm so sick of that "can not see target" garbage...ANYWAY.What if, when you use one of your two taunt spells it became an inverse fear? Made the person run towards you instead of away mindlessly for 3 seconds. This adds up to a 6 second snare if you use both, which is no where near overpowered when you consider being rooted for the entirety of a fight. Anyway, that's all I'm gonna post, thoughts?

Click on a scout class, type /invite. You now have a snare

As long as PvP changes don't effect us in the PvE land all the power to you for making suggestions You probably though will get better answers/feedback on the PvP board, since the majority of people here are PvE Paladin's.

since the majority of PvP board users are necros/scouts the mere suggestion of a plate tank upgrade gets destroyed and becomes 3 pages of flames on how "THIS GAME IS BLANCED LERN2PLAY NEWBBB"full of idiots, that's why I bring my argument here, hopefully some pvping pallys can respond, the few that exist, and maybe a dev will see. The problem is that pvp foughts can not be won because plate tanks have no means of catching anyone, and everyone else can get away so easily. This is NOT a group pvp game, sure it's supposed to be, but most pvp does not occur while ur in groups, it happens when you are harvesting or on your way to groups or new areas. These are times when people experience the most pvp, and the times they need to be able to keep their targets positioned as every other class can do except for plate tanks.

I agree 100% as a PVP pally, We need something liek you sugest, even a spell that slows the oponent. I dont ened em completely stuck in place -- jsut slow em by 50% for a few seconds.

on a side note -- we cant take much damage at all -- even with a healer in our group damage classes deal out more damage then a healer can heal -- and all our armour and mitigation doesnt help 1 bit.

like i said in ya other post on the pvp forum(flame forum)

the key is to have more power before he starts running then just run after them there power will be used of quicker and u can catch up and let Auto attack do the work is he is near a zone like try and het a ranged attack of before he zones this will put him in no zoning allowed so u can go after him and kill him anyways.

doenst always work but that the same for scouts who cant get there snares resisteted before i get out of range for them

highwind 31 pally darathar

Message Edited by RJHighWind on 04-14-2006 09:25 AM

I would LOVE a fear or snare component in a taunt or skill. I think warriors have some sort of snare on one of their skills, not sure.

If you time your skills, you can keep your target pretty much stunned. When I duel, I try to stand as close as possible and try to keep at least one stun ready so I can pop it off.

Not sure about PVP mechanics though.

Does cloth armor give you a movement speed bonus? You might think it unwise to go with the robe, but we are paladins after all, we have wards and heals. Most of us just wear plate for the look.

Jboots? That would be pretty funny quest to do in PVP world I imagine.

Once upon a time we had a nuke that would also stun. That would be good for your situation, but it made for some pretty funny looking pulls in PvE.

While some are harvesting for 30 mins a day, while getting ganked 1-2 times, other Paladins are hunting for freetards while wracking up 50 kills in that time. There's no way that more PVP is solo than group, and it's pretty narrow to think it is. Balance only comes in a group, and that is the same in every single PVP game ever created.Sure, a snare would be nice and not overpowering. I agree with you that way. A reverse fear, as brought up on the PVP forum, will never happen. Running is the main problem in PVP and while we've got other tools, they're not the tools we need in PVP as it is right now.I just look at it that we need to be that much more skilled to play our class. If you don't have any timing or skill then play a necro :smileytongue:
