<div>I'm loving the Pally in PvP. A I have the second most kills for any Pally on the server (278 kills vs. 48 deaths), and I don't engage in griefing or newbie hunting tactics (only been to commonlands once on raid).  I'm loving things - currently at lvl 21.</div><div> </div><div>Pallies do well in PvP.  Bash and charge are quite nice, as stun throws the opponent off balance.  Lay of Hand is obviously a life saver.  It is also nice that we have range nukes to at least get some damage going before going toe to toe.  Being able to wear good armour helps in group PvP settings.  Casters basically get owned fairly quickly in groups - because everyone targets the robe because they know they will go down hard and fast.</div><div> </div><div>Another thing I like about pallies is that there aren't alot of us around.  Makes us somewhat unique.</div><div> </div><div>Kantishi</div><div>21 Seasons</div><div> </div>

Paladins are probably the best PVP tank right now for a few reasons. They seem to be tailored for PVP with their great group resources.- Outstanding resists with defensive stance giving the WIS boost. Casters are serious low to mid level PVP DPS, especially with Wiz's and Furies taking master 2 nukes at 24. Good jewelry and adept 3 def stance is the ticket.- Shield bash, charge, conviction line and stun procs. Stuns are not that big of a deal in group PVP, they're more important for interupting. Knockdown + stun can also stop a runner. In every single battle you'll have at least one straggler to catch once he sees his healer drop.- Lay on hands line, nuff said- Amends line's hidden 5% proc feature is very nice to cast on your main healer. 5% chance for the enemy to be forced to target the paladin and remain targeted for a short duration.- Divine dmg debuff is very nice at low to mid levels. Paladin PVP DPS is much more respectable than PVE DPS, even in defensive stance.- We get a horse! The horse seems to give a hidden 10% speed bonus even while stealth.- The tank is usually the last group member left alive if the battle goes wrong. A tank with a combat rez will be very nice.- Group heal, single heal and wards all have too long of casting timer - moot point and not an advantage over other classes. You should be taunting all damage onto yourself, you will not get a single ward or heal off in a group fight. If you were filling an OT role or protecting the caster group, then you could count these as an advantage.

I'm impressed by the way they've been implemented by SOE. It's a pretty revolutionary idea and really stresses group teamwork while keeping EQ2 group balance.

<div></div>I've had pretty good success so far. Between the ward, heals, and stuns I can do quite a bit of damage before I start taking any myself. I am able to constantly take down players 3 levels above me.

I havent done that great yet, but that because i was lvl 14-16 taking on 20+But i can tell you, I can whip out some damage on thier 20+ casters and make em hurt. I can come close 2 on one( me being one) to take down thier caster if I can get my hits in before the silly rogue realizes whats going on.Pallys can deal some major damage and take the hits good, throw in our wards, and a master II AE for 100 at lvl 15 and hop into the middle of a fight and hit it, and watch thier reaction =)Like I said though, Ive been fighting people anywhere from 6-12 levels above me, and they come after me when I show up( prolly cause im blue or green) which means others around me can whack em good.i like the pally so far, but it sucks not having a track ability or See invis...<div></div>

<div></div>29 SK here on Nagafen, and I can tell you that I was VERY impressed by paladin performance in pvp.  Paladin is the only class that I outright lose to no questions asked, and that is definately not what I expected.  Their DPS is very impressive, much more so than I expected, and the ward + heals makes them hard to take down, shame more people dont play them because you dont see them much, and i would really like to find out if the class is that good, or if the players I've faced were that good. <span>:smileyvery-happy:</span><div></div><p>Message Edited by Zornoctus on <span class="date_text">03-06-2006</span><span class="time_text">10:08 AM</span></p>

After playing DAOC for many years I've kept right away from the EQ2 PVP stuff. But are you saying that tracking works on PvP players like it does for mobs and lists them? Thats errr...interesting lol. I played a healer in DAOC and the only class I truly had trouble dueling were Pallies - sounds like the same thing <img src="/smilies/283a16da79f3aa23fe1025c96295f04f.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />

<div></div>I rolled an assassin and have taken down two pallies 1-2 levels above me with little to no effort <img src="/smilies/283a16da79f3aa23fe1025c96295f04f.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />  I'm going to chalk it up to them not knowing their class.

In stark contrast to the previous poster, as a lvl 20 pally on Nagafen I've taken scout classes who con yellow to me in solo pvp.I'm loving Pally so far, we seem to have a great balance for PvP. Good resists and great armor with good mitigation and decent avoidance, a variety of weapon/shield choices, some very nice group utility, enough damage to be effective, and heals. Honestly one of the more well-rounded professions there are for PvP in my opinion. And then the taunts. Group PvP and taunts is a dynamic which I feel is unique to EQ2 right now. I'm loving it.Then again, I have friends with whom I play regularly and we've developed into a well-working team, so my optimism may be misplaced.

Yep I have a zerker and a Pally. Neither that high, but thus far the Pally has the Zerker beat. I wouldnt have thought so but it is true.

<div>I bumped this thread to see how well Paladins are doing in PvP at higher levels. I am at level 30 now, and I find myself doing alot better in PvP than I was at lower levels. But I guess that is because I have learned more about this class, and playing this game. I came from a game where melee's were gods, so this is a big change for me. One thing I have noticed is that going in O-stance and using a 2Hander gives better results than going the sword & board/D-stance combo, wether I am in a group or solo. I know we do not do much damage, but I have noticed I get more kills going all out offensive in PvP engagements. I would like to hear more thoughts on this subject.</div>

Our job in PVP is taunting and interupting. I'm always in defensive stance and using a shield in PVP. Since the Power Cleave line was made usable with any weapon, there's no reason we should give up our shields. The Shield Bash line is too good to pass up.

<div></div>Well at first I thought I sucked as a pally in PvP, then realized I needed a group and then my view changed. Very rarely was my team or I killed even when fighting higher levels. Taunts, heals and especially bash and charge are great for PvP. Knockdown does wonders on fleeing freeportians and the hazy effect charge adds is a nuisance. So all in all grab a group and a pally shines in PvP.

<div></div><p><font color="#ffffcc">Hey, </font><font color="#ffffcc"></font><font color="#ffffcc"></font><font color="#ffffcc">I'm a 48 on the Nafagen server. I find that their not very good in 1 on 1 unless you really know your target and have the stats to counter their attacks. i.e. if you are going against a necromancer you better have some wisdom dolls and rings to bust out along with a nice two hander and know to AoE allot to kill his rat pets ect.., if you are fighting a scout go for the agility buffs ect.. as far as v.s. other tanks, I really just [expletive haxx0red by Raijinn] them, even bruisers and monks. At 45 I totally destroyed a 47 monk ( we were doing BBC quest together ) and can take a guardian down with only one bar of HP. Berserkers require me to ward a little more then most classes but they go down eventually, they can’t out damage my heals / wards.</font></p><p><font color="#ffffcc">In team pvp, which is really more common on the pvp servers, we are pretty [expletive haxx0red by Raijinn] good. The only problem is we don’t get very good group taunts, making how good of a group pvp tank you are very skill based. You have to pick out who the other team’s main assist is and keep taunts on him, as if he gets on one of your healers your team will go down pretty fast. I’ll be level 50 soon and am looking forward to the group taunt, but not sure if it will be as good as I am hoping it will be.</font></p><div></div>

<div>I'm 30 atm and feel pretty good.  I can take ANY even con 1 on 1 with confidence.  I'll win some, and lose some, based on the experience of the opponent.  Anything that cons blue to me dies - period (can't remember last time I lost to blue con 1 on 1).</div><div> </div><div>Pet classes give me the biggest problem.  I don't quite like the root/snarers, but I've been able to take them out if they don't jump me low on power.  Pure casters and melees I take out pretty easily.</div><div> </div><div>All in all..very happy.  Kinda surprised more folks aren't playing Pally's. </div><div> </div><div>Kantishi</div><div>Hunter</div><div>Paladin of 30 Seasons</div><div>Grey Wolves</div>
