View Full Version : Anyone notice a change in hate since LU19

So far since LU19 I have tanked the following.LockjawBarakahGatesAt first I just thought it was something with Lockjaw and his memwipe that I was not keeping agro. Then we go to Barakah and I had not problems holding agro for the 30 minute it took for all the healers to get hit with the AE and be dead leaving me with no healing and thus dead pretty quick. Then we move on to Gates and Agro was all over the place on some mobs. Now there is another thing to factor in and that was that our raid leader changed the MT group set up not entirely sure why but he did. But I had a Monk and Assassin in my group to use with amends. Even still I was seeing the person with amends pull agro from me even when I was taunting every time it popped.I can't tell if this is a change in the way hate is working or if maybe it was just the different group makeup that messed it up. I did exactly the same things I do when I tank court and I have never had agro issues with court. Anyone else notice agro issues since LU19? or am I just going crazy and the real problem was the group makeup?

I'm assuming your guild doesn't have many problems with beating gates easily, so I'd suggest using a Defiler, Templar, Warden, Coercer, and Assassin/Warlock for maximum hate if you're tanking. That's definately not the best setup for stats, but if you have good healers and gear then it shouldn't be a problem for easy raids like gates...and you'll definately hold aggro better. The coercer provides around 40 percent hate gain, and warlocks will give you good aggro with amends on the AoE fights (alternate the warlock with an assassin for single target fights if ya want).

We have completed all of the first area minus the snake. And we can get to and have come close to defeating Magrick. Healing is not really the issue most times. The only thing I can think of is stacking issues with the Assassins hate transfer. I'm not sure if he was using that or not.But if others have not seen any difference since LU19 then more than likely it is just me or the group set up we were using.

Well it's not always your fault man. I have all master taunts and spells, and can spam every single one of them and have the best hate transfers/gain possible, yet still lose aggro. The dps classes(rangers/conjurors/warlocks particularly) have to restrict theirselves somewhat or they'll pull aggro regardless of what we do. Personally, about 90 percent of the time I lose aggro is from people spamming spells while I'm stifled.I'd also like to say, if you're wiping due to the tank dying then you should by no means use the setup I suggested above, because your stats will suck rather bad with that grp...lol.

Our normal set up is. Pally, Guard (rotate MT role), Warden, Mystic, Templar, One other. Our conj has not been on much of late so this slot goes to who ever we feel we will get the most from. Often a monk or a bard. With that set up. My Standing HP/Mit is 9700ish/4200ish

Nope I have used Sigil since the patch where they broke it again. Really a shame as that was a nice spell.I was more just wondering if it was just a bad set up the past few tries or if something had changed. From the sounds of it no one else is having a problem so I'm guessing it was just a bad set up. Thanks for the feed back guys.

Not sure when it started, but yes I have had issues with aggro also while tanking recently...Single target isn't bad at all...but AoE targets, is starting to get extremely hard to contain aggro on.Our Guardian doesn't seem to have any issues at all, yet I have a hell of a time. Master 1 Clarion Cry, Master 1 Zealous, and Adept 3 everything else, and it just seems much harder now...

Exactly like MeridianR I have a good Master I, Master II and Adept III setup for Taunts and in fact minimum Adept III for all spells but have noticed that aggro drops after coming back to my Pally after a few months. He is lvl 54 and in a Healer/Tank/DPS trio aggro control isnt usually a problem with amends on a ranger or warlock. Add any others to that group and aggro seems to be screwed and goes off in different directions.

I have just read there is a bug with Sigil and have been using that so will test without Sigil up but my thoughts were originally that Amends had had a major nerf and perhaps the person with amends on them had to be within a very short distance of me - which raises the question : what distance does the person with amends on them have to be within (from me) in order for Amends to transfer hate to me...?

Hope its the bug with Sigil as I left off the Pally keeping hate in any scenario and came back online with him finding I was at times losing aggro.

Actually it was pretty funny we were fighting the foreman in gates and he did his random kill attack on the chanter I had amends on. I managed to hold agro without amends until that list bubble of health when 3 casters went a little over boards and got splatted. I was amazed I held agro as long as I did.
