View Full Version : Agro Question
<div>Let me start off by saying i am returning after a 5 month break of not playing EQ2. I spent 3 days getting re-aquainted with my pally and basically re-learning to play him. Spent a couple of days soloing to learn his basic skills and a day of grouping as off-tank to re-learn some group mechanics. Last night I had the opportunity to MT and i took it. </div><div> </div><div>My pally is lvl 39 and i went into RE with a Templar, Wizzie, Mystic, brigand and a coercer. At first things were going great and I had no problem holding agro. I put attonement on Wizzie and no problems. We then lost our wizzie and picked up another brigand. So i put my attonement on the higher lvl brigand.</div><div> </div><div>At this point things went way downhill. For some reason the mystic kept pulling agro and for the life of me i could not get it off of him. A couple of times i pulled and the mobs would run right passed me and straight to him. Long story short, he died three times and bailed. I felt really bad, but the group kept going and i again had no problem with agro outside of one of the brigands taking it for a few seconds every now and then.</div><div> </div><div>Now my AoE taunt is master I and all the rest of my skills are either Adept I or App IV. I would pull with DD spell, hit AoE taunt when mobs got close, ward myself, then do a solo HO to increase damage and use my taunt. Then i would hit AoE taunt, Taunt and ward as they came up while also spamming all of my other attacks as they came up. I admit i forgot to put attonement on the mystic to see if that would make a difference.</div><div> </div><div>Anyone have any advice for me as how to better manage agro in a situation like this?</div><div> </div><div>Thnx <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></div>

<div></div><div>Sounds to me like you fell victim to the hate transfer bug that was there for a long time, fixed, then broken again. I am assuming here that brigands get hate transfer spells like other scouts do. It is currently the case that if amends is placed onto a scout who then puts his hate transfer on to you it buggs the aggro. What exactly happens is less than clear, some report it just cancels amends (even though icon is still up), other suggest it cancels both, whilst a 3rd grp seem to find it does worse than cancelling and appears to transfer hate randomly to any grp memeber. </div><div> </div><div>either way your description reminds me v strongly of my post <a target="_blank" href="http://eqiiforums.station.sony.com/eq2/board/message?board.id=10&message.id=17653">here</a> regarding this same bug and how it affects sigil.....</div><div> </div><div>Krussh</div><div>60 pally/60 alchy</div><div>Dark Children of Lucan</div><div>Faydark</div>

<div></div>sounds to me like your mystic is warding you before your pull.... which will cause instant agro as soon as you pull the mob ... also this affects hots or reactives placed on u by other healers as well

I was having some similar problems in a CT group last evening with a Fury that was prewarding. And I even had atonement on them. On a couple of occassions group mobs were a big problem. Not sure of the proper work around for that. Maybe no preward and wait til I get back? Luckily we had an Illusionist, which helped.<div></div>
