So I created a Troll Crusader. I lvled to 19 did the whole betrayal and everything. Last time I did a betrayal was July of 2004 (back in Beta) so needless to say I forgot many things and was frazzled when it was done. Now I am 19 and BEHOLD the last part of my Paladin Quest. I zone in "secret spot" where I have to rescue the prisoners fromt he nasty zones. There are two vvgreen and two vvgreen at the entrance tunnel. Plus, 2vvvyellow and one vvyellow patrolling followed by another group of greens. Long story short, you pretty much have to choose your battles. Now, this is the [Removed for Content] off part of the quest. I killed off the gnolls I need to kill off. Im at the wooden barricade (you know...the one that is 2 feet high and easily able to be jumped over) and I have to destroy it. Now I have two options. Either take it apart carefully or bash the crap into it. Ive tried it both ways. Needless to say I free the villagers but not before those 4 red conned lvl 25 shamans rush in and totally smear your carcass all over the walls. I spawn in Windstalker Village. Chug my Troll butt back to N Qeynos and redo the mission. This time I quietly try to dismantal the barricade versus bashing it in. It doesnt work. I try it three times. It doesnt work. Then the gnolls are alerted to my presence again. [expletive haxx0red by Raijinn]. I die in 2.3 seconds (despite the buffs and the sprint). So now Im in Windstalker village.....again......with 23% debt (thank god for the rods of forgiveness) Ive done raids, Ive done Heroic Titan clashing battles...I fought over 15 months in this game and this is the first time when I am truly stumped. Am I doing something wrong? Why are these lvl 25 shamans hearing me from 1200 yards away when I am being quiet...blah If anyone can help me that would be great.

You have to quietly take apart those barricades by clicking this option 5 or 6 times. I did this quest over a year back so i have no idea if this trigger has been changed. Cyril LVL 60 Paladin, Valor

I don't even remember any baricades in my Paladin Quest. I'm not sure how it is Post CU but when I did mine there were mobs that could take me down easily and green/blue con mobs. I do remember that I circumnavigated the place twice narrowly avoiding a beating somehow ending up behind everyone and freeing them. I was lvl 18 when I did my Paladin Quest. but if it hasn't changed too much I think there might be a way around the other direction. I hope this is some help. Good luck. (NB: It couldn't be as hard as The Bezerker quest where even at 19<capped out> full App4 skils and adept 3 stance - it was still very close.)

Message Edited by boli on 11-28-2005 04:46 PM

I do remember waiting on pathing of the roamers, and then breaking the barracade. Never really had much trouble with it. Perhaps LU13 broke something with agro ranges.

-I
