So I need to get some nice new t6 rare crafted jewelry, and at first I was thinking I'd go alll vanadium (as most people would BEFORE the expansion) and the more I thought about it the more I thought pearl was better for a paly.. I mean think about it, pearl has Wis and Int.. Our main defence stance is Wis, and our main offensive stance Int.. I mean sure you would loose out on the agility if you went pearl, but whats better for tanking wisdom or agility? I've found wisdom really increases your resists big time.. So what are you guys doing?

Pearl:

Staminia, Wisdom, Intelligence

Vanadium:

Staminia, Agility, Strength

also what are you guys doing for your t6 hex dolls and Imbued rings? It used to be Stamina and Str or Stamina and Agi, but now I think maybe Stamina and Wis or Stamina and Int.. whatda guys thing?

Well, before LU15 (when common mobs could use arcane damage types on regular hits) I would definately have gone with pearl, and I also did. Now I am not as sure anymore, since the avoidance from agi will help more than int/wis versus regular mobs, since they will be doing crushing/piercing/slashing damage.

I will have to think it over a bit more

I think you'd get more for your money with the Vanadium. Stamina yields HP. The Agility give better avoidance. The Strength gives power. With the pearl, you're getting Stamina and Wisdom. And depending on your opinion about intelligence, you could be gaining something helpful or something that doesn't matter too much. To me... my damage seems pretty minimal, so I've opted not to put much emphasis on Intelligence. And since we already have a wisdom buff, that would be another reason to increase Stamina and Agility over Wisdom and Intelligence.

I'm getting both in the long run, but concentrating on Vanadium first.. people are arguing to get the wis for tanking for resists but I dunno.. I can get my magic & divine up to like 6000 with the right buffers in raid and defensive stance which is well over the 70% cap so it's kind of pointless to get more WIS, more AGI is always nice for a little more avoidance. Then it's STR vs. INT, both increases our DPS output, but STR also adds more power so I'm leaning towards STR. So Vanadium is my first pick..

Vanadium.

Str: Gives you power and higher attack rating

Agi: Better avoidance

Sta: More hits

Pearl

Wis: More power and increase resist

Int: Spells hit a little harder

Sta: More hits

Depending on which stance I have up I gain the benefits of wis or int. I can't gain str/agi from a self buff. So vanadium was the logical choice. I went with the str/agi versions of them.

As for the hex dolls, is it even worth upgrading to t6 from t5?

Strenght? Man, thats one of my stats that is easily capped when raid buffed, wisdom isn't. Agility? Increases avoidance by how much per +100?Just to add to this, Righteous Crusade, Sworn Strike, Refusal of Faith, Judgement Strike and our Call to Glory line all depend on Intelligence as a primary damage modifier, even Consecration, Wrath (AoE) line, Decree and Doom Judgement. With 150 INT i can significantly increase the damage on my proc from 300 to 450. To me, with a 2 hander and those procs going off all the time is more valueable than strenght. Have you seen a 1500 nuke from Refusal of Faith? Take intelligence off and it easily goes down to only 900 damage even when Master II quality.
Message Edited by Queen Alexandria on 10-17-2005 09:54 AM

In a raid the buffs (plus your stance) you get will probably trivialize wether you have a vanadium or a pearl ring. If your tanking their is no question you will have defensive stance up. Even if your not, most likely you are defensive for the resists to the AOE's. In fact you may even swap out the ring for one that has better resists to whatever element you need fror the raid. Paladins are not the DPS'ers for raids.

When soloing/small grouping is when the ring means more. In these cases I usually have offensive stance up so that little extra avoidance helps. The strength boosts my power no less than wis (maybe even more since I think str is primary power basis for fighters) and extra attack power is always good. Since we have a wide array of stuns/interrupts I usually keep casters from getting off spells so the wis (resist increase) from pearl isn't missed. Since I am in an offensive stance the extra int doesn't provide much more oompfh either.

It all comes down to playstyle anyway.
