With all the negative talk about our class, I'd like to hear some stories from my fellow pally's.

Since LU13, I left my small guild and when back home to my orgional guild: Explorers of Legend. It's been tons of fun being back with my old friends from past games. Been getting a little raiding in, but mostly questing, questing, questing!

All this questing has been with 3 long time friends. I've dubed us the "Brick Wall" due to being 4 tanks. We are 1 Zerker, 1 Guardian, 2 Pallys. And I have to tell you... We are pretty strong. Sure as a pally I'm not MTing a lot, but I've become the "puller" and then back off into the OT / Healer roll. With the 2 pallys in the group, we have 2 Wards, 2 single heals, 2 group heals, 2 massive direct heals, and 2 mitigation buffs: one for zerker and one for guard. And with the occasional deaths, 2 rezes. Plus we have room and can sub in some DPS and / or healing power.

If we are going after a ^^^ named the guard and zerker (and us for that matter) can play pass the aggro due to the massive power of rescue. It's actually quite fun. "Wait till <insert player name here> gets down in the red then rescue, I'm almost OOP." We've killed many yellow con ^^^ with this method.

Chain casting wards between the 2 pallys, you really need voice chat FYI. But it is oh so effective.

I used to solo a lot pre LU13 because it was fun and quick. Post LU13 I don't solo much, it's just not as fun. So to be honest, I don't care much for soloing at all any more. Not even triple down mobs. We can do it, but as I've said in past posts... Best bet for soloing is to get a friend... For those of you solo only Pallys, you totally got the shaft. We are such a diverse class. We're "HANKS" now. The Healing Tank. With our heals, wards, stuns, and AoEs we can boost any group into trying more difficult and challenging fights. On top of that we can control aggro like other tanks. I didn't sign up to be a healing tank, but I've got to admit, I'm settling into the roll nicely. I'm usually pretty wiped after a 4 or 5 hour session because I have to keep so alert. And for me, that's fun!

I got a group with a warlock buddy of mine in Living Tombs... Our group was a 53 Brawler, 2 level 52 warlocks, a 57 defiler, and me a 51 pally. After about 2 hours the group split up, someone said, "Wow, I didn't know the pally's could tank now" The brawler was at the end of a 7 hour session and didn't want to tank. To be honest, even with the trigger happy warlocks, I didn't have issues holding aggro. I really like what they have done to the redemption line. Aggro control is not a "cinch", but it's such a great tool to aid. Having 2 tanks in a group, especially a pally, means getting adds is neat and clean. I can peel an add and keep it occupied (healing and warding) while the group is finishing the main attack off. The same holds true for raids to a certain extent. If I'm in the second MT group, I go with the MT of that group (or MT myself) and ward / heal / taunt till help can arrive.

All an all I'm have fun and that's what counts in my book. I'm not leveling like a Necro or Conj, but it doesn't bother me. Since we are so diverse, we don't have to be in a "perfect" group to succeed. We can fill out any group quite nicely.

Still would like a ranged attack item though. Something to pull mobs with. Currently I'm only using 2 spells to pull and their timers are tad long. I'm not a role player, so I wouldn't even mind a bow and arrow.
