<DIV>I have read numerous threads in the last couple days. I am NOT on test server. So I can't really form an opinion based on heresay.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>But I have read that Strength increases melee attacks, Intelligence increases divine & arcane attacks. Whereas Agility increases melee defense and Wisdom increases divine and arcane defense.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>if the Paladin's role with the Strength and Wisdom as main attributes (for power resource reasons) then I suppose some say that our primary role in a group woulf be to tank vs arcane and divine casters.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>When I look at our combat arts and spells, alot of them have an arcane or divine basis. I've just read that our offense is really poor from Blackweb and a couple of others. If our intelligence were higher, then maybe our combat arts and spells would do more damage and soloing may be easier.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Has anyone tried increasing their Intelligence to help with soloing? </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV>

<div></div>I believe Paladin's "Offensive Stance" grants INT; as to how much I'm not sure but the <a href="http://eqiiforums.station.sony.com/eq2/board/message?board.id=comtest&message.id=508" target="_blank">Shadow knight's Offensive Stance</a> grants them +59 INT. Naturally we woudl be at a disadvantage tanking with this stance on (it reduces our Defence) but increases our offensive skills. <div></div><p>Message Edited by boli on <span class=date_text>08-12-2005</span> <span class=time_text>03:37 PM</span>

it's an interesting point ... if you are on test, you are probably playing with gear that caters toward the old system (stat-wise) ... i know i would have no int items, cause they were useless before. <div></div>

The offensive stance does not appear to boost the damage of our spells and CAs. I can do some more testing using Combatstats with and without our offensive stance. The current dps number I am getting with Combatstats vs a normal, even-con mob is 40-41 dps which seems a bit low.</DIV>

according to the devs, WIS is supposed to affect mitigation or resists against casting and INT is supposed to affect CA mitigation or resists of CAs cast. it would be interesting to see what if any effects these have on CAs. Does CombatStats log % resists? <div></div>

I will log onto test and see if the int boosts damage. A huge problem with testing the offensive stance is we have so little real offense now. We have only one truly offensive spell or CA, Refusal of Grace (and perhaps our group nuke, Ancient Wrath). Everything else is DoT. It is difficult to detect differences in DoT other than with Combatstats and dps. The problem there is that combatstats continuously averages everything and does not show large varitations in dps. Combatstats does show our HH (High Hit) which is always RoG now. However, the damage of RoG tends to vary widely (in my testing from 238-421) making it difficult to detect the influence of an across-the board damage booster like an offensive stance. If we had at least one more high damage spell or CA, especially one that did divine damage, it would be much easier to detect the influence of a damage booster.</P> <P>The live servers are down so I will go check this with combatstats now.</P>

<P>INT does indeed increase your damage of RoG and other spells. I'm averaging 60 dps currently against level 50 heroics. I am still level 50, btw. I've solo'd several now, and although the fights can be tough, I have yet to lose. I'm sure if the right level 50 comes along, it'll eat me, but so far so good. Also, get 1 add and I'm toast. </P> <P>I've solo'd single target and multiple target level 50 heroics now.</P>

Might be useful to get both their INT scoers to check my theory.</span><div></div>

well ... it would be your int vs mob wis ... so if your int is significantly below the avg mob wis for mobs at your level, you wouldnt necessarily see an effect (kinda like +5 to crushing doesnt help you hit a red mob that much, cause you're still way below him level-wise even with the bonus). <div></div>
