I've heard of talk that we (and other gimped classes) may be getting something for our range slots maybe in the upcoming expansion or something. Anyone else heard anything like this? <div></div>

I have heard that the Devs are still toying with the idea.<p>Message Edited by Iconath on <span class=date_text>07-07-2005</span> <span class=time_text>06:14 PM</span>

<DIV>I sure hope so. I don't even care if it's useless, as long as we get the same benefit of additional stats that the other classes enjoy.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV>

After seeing so many guards walking around with pristine cedar long bows (or better), I have a rare wood and pelt ready to go for whatever will be available.

<div></div>I am all for diversity and I dont think paladins being able to use bows is a bad idea... A paladin in the real world would still be allowed to use a bow.... I understand from an RPG standpoint that bows are a rangers thing. Which in EQ1 was their bread and butter. But we still had the ability to equip one. To gain stats howevr it could not master out. We could not get our skill anywhere near that of a Ranger. Which I agree should be put back in this game... We should have the option of gaining the stats and using a bow and arrow to pull mobs. But have our skills cap out very low so we can not master it. It would make the bow and arrow useless for pulling as we have spells that do much more damage but at least we get the stat bonuses. <div></div><p>Message Edited by Knesh on <span class=date_text>07-08-2005</span> <span class=time_text>11:42 AM</span>

<DIV>Pally's not being able to use a bow has been, and always will be until its changed, an incredibly dumb decision on their part.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV><p>Message Edited by Lawman on <span class=date_text>07-08-2005</span> <span class=time_text>10:40 PM</span>

The peasants, squires and men-at-arms would do the range work and the knights would charge in an chop their enemies up face to face. I don't see any reason why not being able to use bows is a bad idea, we get plenty of ranged spells that we can use to pull; kiting is not a knights thing, we stand and fight to prove we are the best; the only thing we miss is a few stats, and they have stated they are looking into range slot alternatives.</span><div></div>

<DIV>I would prefer a range slot alternative, i.e. holy crosses/symbols and such. </DIV>

In the old roleplaying games like Eye of the Beholder and Dungeon Master we had an Ankh that we could right click and cast spells from. Wat would be good is an Ankh with stats that give us added ability that we can cast a special heal or spell from. Not a proc although in saying that, a proc would not be turned away from <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> To use the Ankh spell/ability you just drag to your Hotbar as you would anything else thats got an ability.
