<DIV>I was told by SOE at the summit that power consumption for spell and combat art upgrades should go down, thus increasing Paladin power efficiency.   Power efficiency is the real limiting factor in dps and soloing ability for paladins.   I was told that power consumption for Adept III Spells and Combat Arts would be lower than the Starter Spells and Combat Arts.   I hope that SOE does increase power efficiency for all classes, especially Paladins.  If you look at the spell list in these forums, you will see that we have a serious power efficiency problem, especially for Adept III+ Spells and Combat Arts.</DIV>

<DIV>For the most part, I agree with you.  Certainly, for paladins to compete with guardians as MT's, we need better power efficiency, as this is the main weakness of our class.  However, I've found that a lot of our skills have either very low power costs, or very high power costs.  Because of this, we can solo effectively by using only the low power cost skills.  While it is frustrating to be in a tight fight and not be able to use Refusal of Grace or Sworn Strike, it is nice that we can slowly drain a mob's health down by using our DOT and mini-nukes in HO's.  I know that when I'm fighting a tough mob, I rely almost exclusively on Unyielding Wrath to work my HO's (completed with Taunt; only 8 power cost!), along with a few debuffs and heals when needed.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>So, in terms of soloing, I think our power efficiency is actually rather good, depending on your style of play.  Holding aggro though... well, you don't need me to tell you just how much help we need in terms of power efficiency there. <img src="/smilies/69934afc394145350659cd7add244ca9.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></DIV>

<P>Totally agree with you.  I'm looking forward to this change, and not afraid / mad like others.   Watch me eat this later, but they can't really break us more than we already are (as a group tanking class).  I'm hoping that some of the spell changes will be in-line with the other tank classes.  I've been playing my beserker a lot these days...  Guess what!!???  They actually have damage attacks that Increase Hate!  Their buffs actually increase hate!!!  These are strange things for us pallys to grasp.  Pally says to Zerker:  You raging strike adds how much hate?  230 at AppIV, puts you in zerker stat, and does damage!  Well, I can oath strike :p</P> <P>Refusal of Grace +Hate, our DOT + Hate.  These things would be nice with Adept I / App III spells.  Buffs that actually increase hate toward us.  </P>

yeah it stricks me odd that these higher spells use more mana. They should use more but not that much more. Thats why i dont upgrade atm. just adepts or IV 's <div></div>
