<div></div>IF you are asking because you are looking for a bridge between 50+x2s and 50+x4s, there aren't many.  There's a little bit of a gap in the progression there.  It's probably worse now, since they made Zalak tougher ... which used to be a good starter raid. <div></div><p>Message Edited by djhbeek on <span class=date_text>07-01-2005</span> <span class=time_text>10:43 AM</span>

It was good practice (we ended up not completing it), and next time hopefully we can get it down.....</span><div></div>

<DIV>After getting locked out of Zalak and having the whole 24 group we had want to try something else -- you know to get our first full guild epic x 4, I received a tell to go for Rognog in the Cove of Decay instanced zone in Thundering Steppes.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I can attest this was a GREAT starter epic x 4.  Our guild pull the fishies first, cake walk, got jumped by the crabs and Rognog when the fish were dead (turned aggro automatically).  Our raid tank took on the named as our dps folks focused on clearing the crabs first.  I was a bit surprised that Rognog even though engaged remained NOT outlined in red indicating he wasn't really aggro unless just pulled which we hadn't done.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>At any rate, we killed the crabs and took Rognog down fast but then ... *BAM* he instantly repopped as fast as he fell this time outlined in red and MAD <img src="/smilies/69934afc394145350659cd7add244ca9.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>All the adds were cleared and only the named was left, so the entire guild focused on the raid tank (50 Guard) and we hammered away on him.  Yes we lost several along the way, but the Pally's rezzed when they fell and we did very nicely in my opinion for our first ex4 test.  Likewise, he dropped a master chest with a fabled symbol (like +17 INT and a few other good stats, a ruby, 2 or 3 cedar, an afghan, an ancient ebon wand, and a half dozen adept 1's).</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I felt like this mob was MUCH easier then Zalak as we failed a few times on him before loosing a few to bad revives out in the CL.  I highly suggest Rognog for those jumping from ex2 to ex4.  One of the research sites we examined on Rognog, since he wasn't our planned target at raid makeup, indicated resistance full or partial to crushing or slashing.  Everyone that had "legendary" of either category hit successfully so don't let that hinder your equipment--we did fine with both.  I'd love to go back and keep practicing this weekend a bit, but we have a 6 day lock out on victory now.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Our raid leader and I have been discussing what to try next.  I don't think we are quite ready for the extra tough mobs yet, but perhaps you guys might suggest a top 5 or top 10 list of ex4's from easier to harder so we can keep practicing, keep learning, keep adjusting and get better so that at some point we can progress to the tougher ones.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>What do you guys think we should try next?</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Thanks,<BR>Kalen</DIV>

Drayek isn't that much tougher than Zalak once you figure out how to do it. <div></div>

ah, yes, sorry, was not being clear ... old zalak.  the new zalak may be more difficult than drayek.  I have only heard about the new zalak 2nd hand.  If you were just grinding the old zalak down without alot of dps, I understand the new one is gonna be an issue. <div></div>
