<DIV>one group at a time, or are our buffs only for the group we're in? And, if we can buff the raid, how is it done? (in EQ1 there was a slash command to let you buff people in other groups).</DIV> <DIV>Thanks,</DIV> <DIV>Feebb</DIV>

<div></div>Unfortunately the only things we can do across groups in a raid is heal (wards dont work) and resurect. No buffs at all. <div></div><p>Message Edited by TroodonIE on <span class=date_text>06-28-2005</span> <span class=time_text>12:14 AM</span>

In E2 nobody can buff a whole raid. You an't buff someone that is not in your group. And thats a pretty good thing. In EQ1 you needed like 1 chanter for most raid and that was all. You needed 2 shaman. 1 for slow 1 for buffing.

chanters can buff the whole raid ... there are some inequalities in the current system.  but given that there are alot of overpowered buffs in the game, buffing the whole raid or even buffing a single member outside of group would make alot of the high-lv content trivial. <div></div>

<DIV>It is more than just chanters than can buff a whole raid.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Inquisitors can FR buff anyone (and everyone) in the raid.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>There are most likely other buffs that can be cast on everyone that I am not aware of.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Shaman ward spells work on anyone in the raid. I am not sure about druid heal over time spells, but I think many of them work as well. The group versions of these spells (one cast does whole group) are only the casters group, but the single target ones can work on other groups in a raid.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Most racial targeted abilites (Leadership for humans, Tactical somethingorother for Ogres) can be used outside the group on a raid.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Then there are a ton of buffs that every class gets which are your group only.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>---</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV><STRONG>I think it makes the most sense for our ward spells to be usable on the whole raid.</STRONG> That to me would be a sensible change. Shaman can already do this, and our wards are not a significant change in how raids would be done. I suspect the reason why they do not currently work is the hate generation component, which doesnt seem to work right across groups. I would love to see the ward work, but the hate component be dropped if outside your group, but that could be perhaps a bigger code change.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Allowing us to cast Gift of Armament and Unwavering Faith outside the group <STRONG>does not make sense</STRONG> in my opinion without a huge revamp. Just about every class out there has spells that could potentially have some use on the MT, and you do not want them to have 23 people all casting buffs on the MT without a huge revamp and rethink.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Right now, a big part of the strategy of a raid is which classes to group with the MT for buffs. Different raids require different class mixes for different buffs. If you allow anyone to cast any buff on anyone in the raid, then this whole aspect of raiding goes away.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Now a different argument, which I think is valid, is that our buff spells, Grant of Armament, and Determined Faith, are not good enough to be worth using, compared to say, Berzerker buffs for HP + Mitigation, or Warder Buffs for Mitigation, Bard buffs for mitigation and avoidance, etc. Very few raids (if any) have a paladin in the ideal MT group, because paladin buffs simply are not as good as other class buffs. Now, if we are actually made a viable MT on raids, an equal alternative to a guardian, then the quality of our buffs does not matter as much.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>-I</DIV>

agree with all you said.  the fact that a zerk can buff a MT better for DEFENSE then we can is absurd.  Zerkers should be DPS buffers and Pallies should be MIT/AVOIDANCE buffers IMHO. <div></div>

<P>Am I the only one that takes issue to the raid window not accurately displaying the raid parties health condition?</P> <P>Prior to raiding I tend to turn off guild names, player titles, etc. to reduce additional text garbage.  Likewise, I have mana/power of group members turned on to monitor that aspect more closely.  However, it gets pretty busy sometimes with so many people on screen, it's more practical to monitor the raid window and raid party members condition through a single UI window.  However, the current ALT-R (for raid) is JUNK unless it's just me bugged.</P> <P>Thank god for Ventrillo/TeamSpeak or I wouldn't know players had died in an "off" group as the raid window shows them 100% health ALL the time (even when dead).</P> <P>I use both Call to Glory and Prayer of Conviction (raise groups WIS by 10--adept 1) when raiding.  I tend to avoid Display of Devotion, but should mana become an issue for a healer (and I'm in the same group), I have cast that ward to absorb damage on a wizard  if the healer is busy with a tank and one of my personal heal timers are down.</P> <P>I agree with the previous posts that Beserker's providing more defense then a Paladin is crazy.</P> <P>My guild has a LOT of Paladins at the moment so during our early raiding experience we are mixing them around in raid groups mostly as individual group rezzers.  I suspect this habit will change as more "mixed" player types come up through the ranks.</P> <P>We are heading to King Zalak tomorrow night to tackle our first epic x 4 as a "guild only" visit (finally enough players 45+) and 4 Paladins will be attending the raid.  At the moment, I suspect we'll have one in each raid group.  </P> <P>Thanks,<BR>Kalen</P>

the raid window being borked is a HUGE issue ... here's my current strat (since people seem to busy to type /r down when they are staring at the death window) attack the main mob (cause i might need to heal the MT via implied target).  turn the camera around so that i can see all the scouts in the foreground and the casters/healers (usually behind the MT or beside the main mob). keep an eye out for names that turn gray. it's a PITA if i have to move to attack a new target cause i have to swing the camera again. watching ppls hit points helps sometimes, but in alot of raids, caster's get one or two-shot, and for a one shot the raid window shows them at full health before and after, so how you're supposed to know is beyond me ... <div></div>

<DIV>yeah how freakin hard can it be to fix something like the [expletive ninja'd by Faarbot] raid window, that really ticks me off, i have an entirely seperate chat window i open during raids that shows nothing but deaths, i mean if a brigand or something pulls agro and gets one shoted the raid window shows his health at 100% the whole time.... thats super super annoying.</DIV>
