Hello. I'm coming to the experts first before I blow hours working up characters for naught, so please give me your honest opinions. What I'm looking for is the most efficient two box partners. So far I've tried Inq/Brigand, Fury/Bruiser, Fury/Beserker, Inq/Wizard. All these combos have been in their mid/high twenties fighting in Nek/TS and the new Splitpaw instances. Here's what I've found. The Inq/Brigand combo works ok, but on groups of 5 or more its just not efficient because of the lack of AOE spells. Same for the Fury/Bruiser combo. The Fury/Beserker works ok but dps seems to lack and I run low on power in a big encounter. My favorite dps wise was the Inq/Wizard combo. Great group encounter dps with the Wizard and so so tanking(with lots of heals) with the Inq. The problem with this combo is keeping aggro off the wizard.

Soooooo, I was thinking why not a Pally/Wizard combo? In my small feeble mind it makes perfect sense. But I thought I would as those of you who have real down and dirty in the trenches Holy Knight. Can pallys keep themselves alive in a group encounter? Are their heals and wards enough to sustain them long enough for the wizard to work his/her magic? Are the pallys taunts enough to keep aggro off the wizard? I appreciate any words of wisdom.

ehh.....that's a difficult answer, cuz it really depends. I've duo'd w/ a wiz before, and it's ok.....but I find myself doing absolutely nothing but healing/warding if the mob is too tough. The wiz would be doing all the dmg, which i guess if he does enough the mob would die fast. the big problem here is that's it's slooooowwwwww. You would think it's fast, but it's not and once the pally is , the wiz is a goner. It really depends wat you wanna fight, cuz the whole point of that duo would be to have the pally take hits while the wiz kills. Almost like a conjurer. When you get into mobs with ^^ you get into trouble because they have lots more health, and these are the mobs I was trying to kill when I was with a Wizard. If you really want a good duo, try Wiz and Templar. The templar gets to wear heavy armor and can "tank". Also the temp has better heals to help keep BOTH people alive. Plus, the temp can have some nice AE spells to use.

If you plan to fight through 50 on difficult mobs (blue-white and maybe yellow ^^) I would suggest a healer profession with your Paladin. The bottom line is that eventually you'll be interrupted enough by hard hitters that you'll die or fall behind on heals main tanking and main healing. It's probably possible to do (green through blue) with any duo combination, but hitting the white and above heroics duoing especially near 50 will require a healer.

I have a guildmate that started a Guardian and his wife played a Templar. Eventually, she slowed down game play so he started boxing the two in the 20's. Now he's a 50 Guard and his wife's toon is up to 48/49 (25ish levels of boxing). The 2-box combo he has is very deadly.

Thanks,
Kalen
