Is anyone using a custom UI ? Do you recommend them or should I stay away ? If so which one and how would you rate it ? Thanks in advance.

<DIV>Its mostly a matter of taste, head over to Eq2interface.com. They have some great interfaces, and you can mix and match the different pieces to get the UI the way you want it. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I suggest downloading Eq2maps along with it. Points out locations of quests, npc's, mobs, etc on your map for you.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I use <A href="http://www.eq2interface.com/downloads/fileinfo.php?id=3664" target=_blank><FONT color=#e6e6e6>TyeJae Night Steel 3.2 by Aeeolag</FONT></A></DIV>

<P>Yep, the mapping one is awesome - adds maps for some areas that do not have them by default, plus adds points of interest with comments and such when you hover over them. The best part is that it has an updater that you run for it to update the maps and POIs. </P> <P>I also like the horizontally split quest journal mod as well as the exp window with additional info on it. Tons to choose from.</P> <P>I only use parts not the whole UI packages though.</P>

I've tried a few custom UIs, and by far, <A href="http://www.eq2interface.com/downloads/fileinfo.php?id=3563" target=_blank>Fetish Nightfall</A> is my favorite. <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>It shrinks most everything down, removed a lot of borders and backgrounds, has a dock for your inventory screen (which can be truncated to just the bottom two lines), quick search info on the broker... the list goes on and on.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I personally prefer a UI that doesn't have a lot of graphics or "pretty things." I just need a UI that's functional and unobtrusive, and this one fills that need nicely. I have the cinematic widescreen thing completely expanded out of view, and almost every window I have fades out when not in use. My whole screen is the actual in-game image.</DIV>
