<DIV>I just hit level 24 and got a spell called blessing of the penitent, here is the spell description:  *increases max health of caster by 56  *Casts shard of penitent on caster. When target is struck this spell has a 1% chance to: summon 1 penitent essence.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>The spell description confuses me , i understand it is a self-only buff, and that it increases my health by 56, but the rest makes no sense... what is shard of penitent, who do they mean by "target", what does it do <img src="/smilies/69934afc394145350659cd7add244ca9.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>thx</DIV> <DIV> </DIV>

the 1% chance to summon the essence pretty much means that u have a one %1 of being attacked that the proc on the spell will go off and summon that essence....put it on and u will see after having it on u for a while you'll get some essence's in your invo....now later on in your paladin career you'll get a spell thats pretty much self only super heal....sorta like Lay of Hands that paladins get except you have to have that essence to cast it otherwise it won't work.

To put it simply: http://eq2.ogaming.com/db/abilities/PenitentSacrament.php . Timer is 5 minutes and only takes 1 second to cast. Combined with Lay on Hands at Apprentice IV and this at AppIV, you can heal yourself for about 1000 dmg within 2 seconds. Combine it with your Blessed Aid at AppIV and you've got about 1300 health within 5 seconds. <div></div>
