<DIV>I know that many of you are concerned about the effect that the combat upgrade will have on Paladins. This issue was discussed at the summit at the Fan Faire. The EQ2 team assured us that no classes would be severely nerfed including the Paladin. In fact the Paladin will get numerous enhancements primarily through skill upgrades. Adept III and master skills in particular will get some enhancements for the Paladin. Adept III skills will no longer just be upgrades of the base skills but will include other enhancements as well. Save your coin for those skill upgrades! :smileyvery-happy:</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>The issue of power efficiency was also brought up. After the combat upgrade, most (hopefully all) skill upgrades should use less power than the base skills, not more.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>The expansion pack will be available to characters lvl 20-60 but will be focused on lvl 45-60. PvP balance issues were brought up but the issue of PvP must be balanced with gameplay. If the classes are balanced for PvP and those changes were to affect PvM, there would essentially no differences between the classes and we do not want that. PvP class changes should affect PvP only. PvM balance issues will should be addressed separately.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>We also discussed spawn competition and spawn timers. Hopefully, the spawning of important named mobs (for HQs) will depend more on killing other mobs (placeholders) to get them to spawn than on very long spawn timers.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I personally asked the EQ2 team to give us some "shiny" rare armor for tier6. Not everyone is happy with the dull, black appearance of Ebon armor, especially for Paladins who are warrriors of the light. I dont believe the appearance of tier6 vangaurd armor has yet been determined so post your suggestions in the eqiiforums.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Please be assured that the EQ2 team is very interested in what we say in these forums so keep those posts coming. These forums are our primary means of communcation with them. You want random stats on items? I think the EQ2 team is working on increasing the variety and stats on items, especially uber items for the endgame.

For handcrafted rare items, I would like to be able to pick what modifiers are on which piece of armor that suit my playstyle. In otherwords, I should be able to mold my stat modifiers and resistances to their fullest through the use of crafted items and jewelry.</DIV>

I suppose it is possible but it might be hard to implement. What I do is use jewelry to balance my stats. There are two different types of normal and rare jewelry at each tier. If they are planning on making grey con spells have little to no effect, what will this do to our redemption? Will it remain the same? Become incredibly useless? If it is nerfed to uselessness, then I hope that they implement upgrades to the spell as we will lose a major portion of our aggro generating abilities. <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>As for the other changes to spells (i.e. spells not improving with level) I can see a lot of disadvantages to just having the max use of the spell/ability. I.E. tank several levels below you having the same aggro as you do. As far as adept 3 having improved abilities and base changes, my main hope would be a mitigation buff connected to our self hp buff (Blessing of the Penitent/Devout) as we are falling behind in the tanking ability. With an increased level cap that difference could potentially become larger. I don't know about you guys but I didn't sign up to be a rez [Removed for Content]. That would render a lot of items ineffective (Manastone, Fishbone Earring etc).

Master-quality Tier5 armor is silver, and very shiny. <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> It uses the same graphic as Parade armor, if you've ever seen that. Looks superb in a full set.

In other words future items should steer away from the whole cookie cutter issue. This was brought up at one of the forums.<div></div>

Ok, I am bumping this thread because it contains all I know about Paladins and the Combat Upgrade from the summit. This along with a post by Moorgaurd is all we know at this time. I will let you know more when and if I learn anything new that I can talk about. Chances are, you will all know as soon as I do. I dont have an "inside track" on this issue.
