<DIV>FIrst off id like to say hello to everyone first time i feel like something needs to be looked at. now onto what ive found.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Zalak kite shield of dominion great shield adds +5 to determined faith hence technicly making u one lev higher. tested it out all it does is that it makes u spells/skill con diffrent colour not changing the dam or effect what so ever. being at lev 50 i though humm... maybe lev cap is causing this, so i proceeded to mentor down a little to see if indeed it get to be one lev higher. again dissapointment all it did was turn red skills orange but not letting me use them. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>So i call out to u all that might have this item or ive seen other items like this, a wand and a bruser/monk wep that does the same ups one lev follow up on this post. why did SOE impliment these items and not test them ;( . best items in the game so far but u cant get too actully profit from them. id like these to be fixed and a little info on why or what could be causing this would be apreciated.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV>

<div></div>Actually it does work. My Adept 3 Pious Aid heals for 711 without the shield and for 728 with the shield. As for being able to use skills of a higher level, that is not possible as the game checks your unmodified skill for that. You can't equip a higher level kiteshield when you've got unwavering faith up either although you will heve the required kite shield skill. /edit : added comment on using skills of higher level. <div></div><p>Message Edited by Dwergux on <span class=date_text>06-09-2005</span> <span class=time_text>03:35 PM</span>

<P>on a seperate note thx for mentioning how much pious heals for at adept3, ive been debating getting it up to adept3 now i know i wont as im using master 1 of the earlier heal, names gone out of my head atm, and it heals for 765hps for less power.</P> <P> </P> <P>Steelle</P>

<P>I have all adept 1's at the moment with the exception of my level 50 new spells at apprentice 4.  I came very close to purchasing Zealous Preaching Adept 3 on my server until I compared the hate increase.  I don't remember the exact number of hand, but it was around 30 points if that.</P> <P>I'm still saving coin to finish off an ebon armor set and will likely buy it someday, but for now, it's not worth the > 1 plat asking price compared to a 3-5 gold apprentice 4.  Some of our spells are REALLY worth upgrading, but this is a gentle reminder (and to myself) to study the valuable data posted on this forum that compares spells at various levels before spending the big bucks.</P> <P>I obviously want all the hate I can get, especially at level 50, but with aggro still holding fast in every group situation I've encountered thus far, I'm going to hold on to the coin until I polish up my mitigation and resists a letter better.</P> <P>Thanks,<BR>Kalen</P> <P> </P>

As a young pally some 6+ months ago useing Knights Stance I was able to use a shield  that was too much for my level and this brings the first poster into question about skill level and use. I'd ask you to double check your point please.

<DIV>Consideration for a kite shield that may be equipped is based soley on your base (unbuffed) kite shield skill.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I made the bad mistake of selling (pre attune) a very nice kite shield to jump ahead one tier as my buffed stats showed not only the adaquate level but +5 over what I needed.  I was very disappointed to learn (even orange con shield when buffed) that I couldn't equip the item.  Once all the buffs were cancelled my skill was -5 the required level.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I wrote a lengthy reply to customer support and received a fast answer--that's the way it is intended.  You can not equip an item because you have buffs (even personal buffs) that raise your skill.  It's based soley on your base skill.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Thanks,<BR>Kalen</DIV>
