Can you SOLO a Group Mob? i.e. ^^ or 2 ^ or 4 reg

44 Pally here, and i can also solo green 2^ up mobs, but i much prefer green single 2^^.  A lot less risk, and less down time for me personally.

I'm 44 and I solo the 40++ crows in RV all the time, they barely hit me I can attack and alt tab to a website and just auto attack them to death. I usually come back when sworn strike and refusal of grace are up and just do those. When I was lower lvl I was killing the herioc lizardmen(groups of like 6 down arrows) pretty easy and for awsome xp.

Well, I'm only in my mid-20s so I can't speak for the level of game that you're all at, but I will also say that I exclusively solo heroics.  They're a dime a dozen in Stormhold.  I know, I know, its easier at the lower levels.  But I'm actually finding it easier to do as I level up.  I have a wizard that I played up to level 30 and it was nearly impossible to solo heroics past about level 16.  I got kills MUCH quicker on my wizard.  You'd find a non-heroic mob by itself and go to town.  If it wasn't dead in a short period of time I'd be out of power and have to run.  I also wouldn't be able to stand toe-to-toe for more than a couple seconds.  Name of the game was root, move back, nuke, stun, root, move back, etc.  With the Paladin the fights take much much longer.  If its a particularly tough fight (blue ^ one level below me) I'll usually have to play defensively at the start.  I'll charge and bash when those come up, but I save my power for heals.  When the mob runs out of its power its gametime and I go full offensive.  Despite taking quite a bit longer this way than the wizard, the exp comes in at a MUCH quicker rate because of the amount per kill.  I'm getting probably 1.5-3% per kill on a lot of these kills.  The wizard would be lucky to get 0.5% and then have to wait to regen all its power before doing it again. Point is, there's a reason I don't play the wizard anymore.  And in groups, the paladin is much more engaging to play and fun, even if I'm not the MT.  Isn't fun what its all about? <div></div>

I don't have mighty good gear, a pretty good fabled breastplate (rolled a 950, woohoo, happens rarely tho), imbued ebon greaves, LJBoots, the rest is rubicite or fulginate. SM/SBS in my hands. I guess I could solo a 47^^ with some hardship, I just never tried it. Maybe I should try the stun/dot strategy. I can solo a green 45^^ with my hands bound behind my back. In fact, I survive getting them as adds without breaking in sweat.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV>

Fulginate armor, imbued ebon chest and legs, guard of grumm, imb ebon assault axe, haddens earring, flowing orb necklace, and some blue jewelry... Full health at end of combat. Power is usually at rock bottom tho. Unless I decide to just hack and slash it to death.</DIV>

Funny to see how balance has changed over time and levels.  My 50 wiz can quickly dispatch a single heroic up to lvl50^^ with no mana regen very quickly, a 48/49 named with a bit of planning, any group mob can be a bit of a struggle, and she was pretty hopeless soloing anything useful before.  My twinked 23 pally that procs something everytime she sits down, can manage green heroics easily but struggles beyond that and needs a damage proc or someone to duo for blues.  Always use my imbued two handers at the moment, maybe a shield will help and i just got 2 Thunder starters in under an hour (!) so should have another proccing toy shortly.

<P>45^^ can't hit me, 46^^ can and that's my best level solo for loot vs. downtime ratio, 47^^ pound on me -- If I can avoid the interruptions on heals it's doable, if I fall behind, it's bail.  I have not tried a 48^^ solo as the 47^^ are hard enough for me with ebon imbued BP/Leggings, rest fulginate.</P> <P>I'm guessing early 50's have no trouble with 45^^ and start seeing a real challenge at 46^^ with basic gear and no fabled love or advanced combinations of potions/food/drink/etc. <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></P> <P>As far as consistency, Paladin has to rank near the top.  We've been able to do green ^^ pretty much since 20, the occasional blue ^^ and rarely if ever a white ^^ or above.  Other professions have been up and down like a yo-yo on what they can tank solo.  I have friends that at certain levels couldn't defeat a gray ^^ or 2 gray ^.  Now they are in their mid to upper 40's and doing 48^^ and above solo--glad they hung in there as many got mad and rerolled on my server.</P> <P>I've been so busy (2x the normal) since I dinged 50 helping friends and guildies, I haven't had much of a chance yet to play with tactics in solo mode to push the banner.  If I don't get the named mobs I need in Cazic-Thule to spawn for the screaming mace soon, it's my voice you'll hear when your weapon procs! <img src="/smilies/69934afc394145350659cd7add244ca9.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></P> <P>Gratz on the higher end accomplishments guys.  I'm going for prismatic this weekend with my guild and can't wait to get started on the path to fabled and uber elite gear.</P> <P>Thanks,<BR>Kalen</P>

<P>Lvl 38 pally here,  been that way for a few months now  (been armoring lvl 43 now)  </P> <P>It used to be I could solo yellow heroics,  then I hiyt my mid teens,  and then by lvl 20 it was only green heroics,  about lvl 28 I could solo low blue heroics with hero's armor,   by 30  I could solo low blue heroics,  by 33 I could solo almost any non-caster blue con heroic.   By 36 I was taking the occasional white con melee heroic^^ and groups of ^ or large groups of no arrows.   now at 38,  I only think twice about soloing a white heroic if it is a big time caster.   Have even tackled a handful of yellow heroics.  </P> <P> </P> <P>And I do noto have the best equipment,  I have good equipment,  but not the best</P> <P> </P> <P>My guilds lvl 50 pally says that yellows are rather easy for him to solo now,  of course he is extremely well equipped.</P>

I am 27 now with rare crafted legs, chest and shield, a SoT and the rest being looted steel gear, the equipment makes a difference, though the biggest thing is the way avoidance scales. My Agi is only 57 and yet my avoidance is 58.7%, more than 10% higher than my mitigation at 48.1%. Heroic greens never hit, and some blues hardly at all, in fact fighting yellow and orange solos is often harder than Green and blue heroics as they can actually hit me. Edit to add: Just remembered, the avoidance issue can be clearly seen by the fact that I have managed to solo both skullhammer (epic vulrich) and Windstalker rumbler when they were green to me, in both cases because they could hardly manage to hit me. /Edit My real 'testosterone' moments? well I can think of two <ul> <li>Soloing a Yellow ^^ Fallen Giant in the TS, I literally won with a sliver of health and no power having used every trick in the book.
