hi all, I had an interesting experience last week and was wondering if anybody else has experienced it. I'd just dinged 44 and was tanking the last part of the Screaming Mace quest in the Sanctum of Fear. I was running the standard buffs: shining beacon (ad1), redemption (ad3) on the assassin, Theron's. The mobs popped and instantly jumped on the assassin. Ran the standard taunts, buffs, wards, heals and shield bashes (ad1) to get them off, but no luck: it took most of the fight to remove them from him. We rationalised that this happened because the assassin was standing nearer to a spawn spot than everybody else, so all moved around for the next wave. Exactly the same happened, and even without him fighting or bufing we were almost unable to remove the mobs from him. Eventually 1 or 2 came off when I hit Rescue and Smite Prayer, but not all. We finished the event, regardless, but it was very sloppy due to these agro problems. Has anybody been in this situation? I generally never have agro problems, but this made me out to be incredibly incompetent! Delight, 45 pally House of Cards, Crushbone

Can't say what was happening there unless the assassin was initiating the encounter. That can be tough at times to get aggro off. But one thing I noticed in Zek last week was fighting a group of mobs 3 or more. Would have aggro on me and then one or two of the mobs would die and the rest would shift off onto the templar. Never had this happen before in any zone and this is the only group I have been xping with since level 20. Templar says he wasn't doing anything diffrent or using anything new. And I know I was doing what I always did. I even tried to start using my group taunt everytime it refreshed and the mobs still jumped off me and on to him after 1-2 of them died. But only happened in Zek. In EL the mobs acted the same as before never left me. Same with mobs in TS and Nek. Could never pin down what the deal was. Then the next day we went back and mobs where behaving normally ( this is I was keeping aggro ) again.

That probably is not alot of help but best I can do for you.

<edit> this happened in sanctum instance for mace also. but i've noticed in all ring-events that the mobs seems to pick one person to jump every time they spawn and stick with them.

I've noticed it's more whoever gets off the first attack, so if the rest of the group holds back a bit and let's me get a round of taunts off, I have no trouble holding agro, but if the nukes are flying before my first taunt is done, then I have a much harder time regaining and maintaining agro.
