<DIV>A few things have been nagging me about my EQ2 Paladin that I just wanted to get some discussion going on. In no particular order...</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>1. Armor (appearance only) - I know this has been discussed ad nauseum on the graphics and art board but it just bugs me that I look just like everyone else wearing feysteel (insert x armor type here). Not to mention after 30 levels of playing I am wearing something that looks like it fell off the rusted tin man from the Wizard of Oz. This is a minor gripe <img src="/smilies/8a80c6485cd926be453217d59a84a888.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>2. Armor/Weapon (stats only) - I would like to see some variety in what attributes can be imbued to a specific piece of armor or weapon. A Pristine Imbued Feysteel BP will have the same stats on it for a Paladin as it will for a Zerker...this to me seems inherently wrong. For dropped armor, its no big deal but if I am paying hard earned gold pieces (and plat later on), there should be some way to make my armor different and customized for me.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>3. Versatility vs. Specialization - (1h vs. 2h) For levels 1-29 I pretty much was sword and board. Now all of a sudden, I have discovered the joy that is a 2h claymore <img src="/smilies/8a80c6485cd926be453217d59a84a888.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> From one point of view, I could say that it is fantastic that I can be so versatile to fill alot of different avenues in which weapon I choose to use. However, from another it can be said that it just further illustrates that there is little or no difference between paladin a, b, c or d.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>These are just minor things, because I truly enjoy EQ2 and want it to be the best game it can be.</DIV>

i agree with you for the most part on all 3 points. there needs to be more armor <DIV>graphics. i personally am 100% against armor dye, there just needs to be more. as far as differentiation of stats. i dont see ANY reason why my shining star bp shouldnt be EXACLTY the same as everyone elses. i do think there should be some class specific armor and stats need to be different one stuff. not all bps have str/agi, not all helms have int, gloves have wis or whatever. thats annoying as hell to not be able to work on certain stats. and finally, specialization. i dont quite understand what you are saying with 1h and 2h but i will say that more specialization would be nice, more traits or traits with a bigger effect. they arent gamebreaking right now. everyone gets defense, hp and resists. some will get different spells but they dont really matter in the long run whether i took this nuke upgrade or that heal upgrade, its very miniscule.</DIV>

Thanks for the reply. As far as 1h vs 2h goes...what I am getting at is that it would be nice to say I am a sword and board pally or 2h crush pally or 1h crush and shield pally and craft my armor, jewelry and weapons as such. However, I realize that this would be almost impossible to do now because of how the game is setup. Certain mobs are resistant to certain types of damage, therefore, it would be possible to [Removed for Content] yourself just specializing in one specific type of damage.

<DIV>gotcha. im not sure how i feel about this. specializing in one would be cool but then becoming gimped against certain mobs would suck, but thats how specialization works. i do like having to only get 1 good weapon instead of 4 though which can be a real pain. thats kind of a toss up, but really more specialization would be nice regardless.</DIV>

<P>As a crafter as well as paladin. I would love to chose which stats or combination of stats are placed on an item when I crafted it. I would even settle for only being able to pick one stat to say make the highest on that item. This could be done rather easy really by SOE and would also fix another issue crafters have which is lack of recipies in later levels. A simple copy paste of code with one stat for example could be a feyiron breast plate of wisdom or str or sta ect.. They could then look at giving slightly diffrent graphics to each breast plate as the game went on. Weapons would be a bit more difficult as there are alot more of them then armor. But could still be done. Heck they could even add in a potion type to the weapon that increases the stat you want. For example you get a potion of str from an alchemist add it to a basic recipie and that could dictate the addition to the stats. This would also help the alchemist out a bit with further sales of products which since the dependencies where changed in the crafting. This would also allow players to tailor thier stats the way they see fit.</P> <P>So yes the cookie cutter feel is there and for the sake of balance I believe it will be here to stay. But there is alot of room for improvment from SOE. So maybe in a years time or more we might see this stuff.</P>
