Had a few questions about the Paladin Class, considering an alt: -Do you have to buff your self a lot? -How is the healing re-use timer? -How well can you solo? -Are you group oriented? Thanks in Advance. <div></div>

I need to add something about "are you group oriented" Like i said we are, but be warned, you have to prove yourself. If a stranger form a group and need a tank, you won't be the first choice. (Its just amazing how people with a low 20's char as a main think they know everything about the game.) anyways here how "the mass" see the figther Guardian: ubber big daddy tank...one tank to rules em all, i need to include one of the most brainwashed narrow-minded post i've seen on the paladin forum for this one: "<font color="#ff3300">Whenever I read one of these threads I have to wonder what people were thinking when they rolled their toon. Everyone that looked at the manual, watched the videos, checked the websites should have known that if you want to be the guy to stand in the front and be a meatshield to go Guardian, that's the job, the name spells it out, the Tower Shield is big to stand behind when the dragons flame you. If you consider the MT being the hero/center of attention play the Guardian. </font><font color="#ff3300"> </font> <font color="#ff3300">For me the Paladin is the QB, he stands back keeps on eye on what is going on, steps in and nudges the others the right way, let someone know to back off if they are pulling too much.</font>" Berserker: good tank ubber dps Paladins: half-arsed cleric-fighter who run around on horseback with a sword and a kite shield, subpart tank Shadowknight: "Shadow what ?" Monk: dps Bruiser: dps If you still interested to roll a paladin after that <span>:smileyvery-happy: You have to know there is hope, you will have your chance to prove yourself and if you shine trust me you will hit 5 friend list at once. fail and you just renforced the previous statement about the paladin. keep in mind: <i>If a guardian suck the player is to blame, if a paladin suck the whole class suck and if he rock he's an exception...</i> </span><div></div>

<DIV>I have a question about redemption. Is the hate transferred only at the time of the cast or does it continue to transfer as the person accumulates aggro.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Oh and when I signed up for paladin, I saw him as the go to guy to keep you alive. The one that is to save the day through taking on the attacker head on. Using his faith and straight up courage to save his adventuring party. Be that party 2 people or 24, he is one of the guys you call on to get things done. He may not be the only one for the job, but he can hold his own with the brainless (as in unable to do spells) warriors. At least this is what I thought was going to be the case when I read up about the archtype system. Sadly, SOE has failed miserably at completing this task. I did not see the paladin as a buff [Removed for Content] so someone else could do your job. To each his own I guess.</DIV><p>Message Edited by Narfism on <span class=date_text>06-05-2005</span> <span class=time_text>12:40 AM</span>

Redemption continue to transfer as the person accumulates aggro the 2 majors flaws for redemption are: - take 2 cons slot, read: you have to cancel something to use it, knight stance line (+def) or Vigor of trust line (+Stat), i dont see the point for a MT to debuff himself to get more hate (redemption is a joke vs the warrior lvl17 skill: Hold the Line) - Can't be casted cross-group in raid situation. In a typical MT group you have: MT (you) offtank templar warden dirge warlock or wizard depend on what you fight So who is the winner for redemption ? you want the offtank to be 2nd in the hate list, draining hes hate is not the best idea. templar/warden are not the best hate battery. dirge, unless he buff like crazy, he just give aggro bump when he refresh hes buff. Warlock and Wiz are somewhat the best choice but they are very non-durable chars, first one to die from AE and a dead nuker dont generate hate, when the nuker is rezed (hopefully by a dirge or a paladin with 40% hp/pwr) you have to recast redemption on him... and you should know by now, the casting range on remdeption is sooo short unless he stand right next to you he will be out of range...
