<DIV>I rarely play a  tank class I usualy prefer hard class to play like my EQ1 Bard and enchanter. Or caster like Wizards,Mages warlock.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Paladin in EQ1 were so boring. auto attak + spaming stun spells to get aggro and almost no buff were stacking with clerics ones under lvl 60.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>My pally in EQ2 is just my alt bcuz we already ahve a lots of tank in my real friend. But I like him a lot. I am alays the main tank exept when we do have a zerker/guardian or SK in the group. And if I am not main tank in these situation tis not bcuz I am not as good as tanking But bcuz I can play my suporter role betther.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I like to beeing able ot main tank and casting heal spell to save groupmate [expletive ninja'd by Faarbot] in some situation. I also like to be the off-tank bcuz I can use a dam nice looking 2hander. I also have nice buffs even if its [Removed for Content] me off that zerker HP buff are betthers then mine.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>paladin in WoW are so boring and cant main tank in hard zone. hate them</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>paladin in EQ1 were not healing alot exept in raids or when LoH is up.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>paladin in NWN were just so so tank with poor healing and buffs.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Yeah EQ2 paladin can use some improvement but they still a funy char.</DIV>

I have a 33 Paladin.  I tend to solo a lot or play in small groups of 2 or 3 guildmates.  I find myself playing main healer more than I do main tank -- especially if there is another fighter in the group.  With adept III demonstration of faith (which admittedly starting to get old) and adept III blessed aid) I can provide quite reasonable healing as long as the mobs aren't too high level. Paladins are very versatile in small groups -- they can fill in for duties that might be missing based on group makeup. <div></div>

Yep not too mention throwing a nice ward on the MT in a small group is great =)  I think the EQ2 Pally is a nice well balanced character - enough tankiness to take the beatings, great holy warrior divine magic, some small buffs and heals to help others makes it a well rounded char to play.  Roleplaying is not *broken* by some far-fetched abilty and I do indeed feel like a Holy Warrior when I play mine =)

<P>Zerker here, you dont have to worry about us giving more hp than you that is more than likely to change once they fix the stacking issue. I agree with most of yall my friend has a pally and i have grouped with many before and i must say it is a very well rounded class. Ive had my life saved several times buy lay on hands. They make exellent tanks too.LOUD NOISES!!!!!</P>

I admire you errr....Poochy, for another tank class to comment positively on another class is commendable, funny you say that, I wouldnt give my Pally up for all the world, but I've started a Froglok Zerker that with the right gear will go nuts!! In EQ1 froggies made the best Paladins, they had the right stats, particularly wisdom but since we didn't have froggies at the start I used Barbarian. Now I've changed the tables and made a froggie who zerks. I think it's sad that they have to nerf classes but if it "balances" the job of "tanking" so that everyone tanks resonably the same but with variations then so be it. What I want to see is armor and gear that makes use of stats a little better, i.e. a tank who carries around 2 or 3 sets of armor i.e. A Pally who has been made the support tank, so therefore offense is more important, high str and high wis armor, or next he is made MT so high str, high sta and high resists armor. EQ1 was always having the best of everything, but people lose focus with this and think that a tank with pristine imbued ebon armour makes the best tank for EVERY occasion. While it certainly helps, more variety would spread the tasnking duties more evenly.

We are grossly underrated in our abilities to make other tanks better.  Even at the low levels I can already see a difference.  I can tank just fine, but if I have another tank in the group with similar gear and the same level we'll typically tank with about the same effectiveness.  I'll have to use more defensive skills to be the same, but he's usually using more offensive skills to catch up in DPS.  However, if I step back and let him tank exclusively - I can use concentration buffs and "offering of armament" and vastly increase his abilities.  I've even had tanks say, "wow, I'm tanking really well today" without knowing why.  The only problem with this strategy is it leaves me much more defenseless.  If a huge add joins the group and we need more than one tank I'm fumbling around with the buffs trying to at least get myself back to normal as quickly as possible. I was in a group of 4 guardians (2 my level, 2 lower) and a scout last night.  It was an interesting group-- but the funny thing is I ended up doing most of the tanking because nobody was taunting, the scout was shrugging off his aggro, and I got compliments from the guardians on how well the paladin tanks.  Of course, my gear is probably considerably better than theirs as my paladin is my second character and I'm not scrounging for equipment at this level like most other toons. <div></div>

Retired dwarf pally from fennin ro. Dwarf, imo, made best pally in eq1 when I made him. Froggies came out later but I didnt play one. On eq1 I was usually a backup healer who would fight. Whenever I was in a group, the healer never ran out of mana (inless it was a huge unexpected fight). I see alot of similarities in the eq1 and eq2 pally. I do about the same stuff. Heal, buff, fight. Were the most all-around class out there. Not the best in what we do, but more options then most. A guardian can fight, a cleric can heal, well, we can do both, and thats what I love. A paladin is a great add to any group. (actually imo a full pally group would kick [Removed for Content], or 5 pallies and a cleric) <div></div>
