<DIV>I was wondering if any of you use the PGT.  I do, but i am not sure if it is procing.  Seems to do good damage due to its speed but i never see the strength or shield come up.  Anyone else using this weapon?</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Dorff</DIV>

Err its crappy damage is easy to see by that nice Damage Rating. Its a dual wield weapon, and as such will have about one half the dps you can do with a 2 hander, and a little over half the damage you'd do with a real one hander. But as for whether or not I use it.. I do occasionally on long fights, especially where my dps isn't much needed. Its proc goes great with a manastone for instant huge mana boost with minimal hit point loss. But its pretty rare that I bring it out. <div></div>

<div></div>The PGT is a good weapon for tanking in groups, and only for that. As dual wield weapon, it has less damage than a one-hander, true. But in this situation, the damage dealt is secondary, because you have a group of damage dealers behind you. Holding the hate of the encounter is your main concern. And for this situation the PGT is very good. The proc goes off about once per minute. It gives you three things: A nice ward (= aggro generation), a power boost (= aggro generation) and a strength buff (again = aggro generation). As you see, albeit the damage dealt is poor compared to other weapons, the aggro generated is very nice and much higher than the hate a bigger damage would make. Especially considering the fact, that the most damage we make not with our weapon, but with spells and combat arts anyway. Another plus is, that it is conned "Legendary", which means it can hit and proc on epic encounters, as opposed to "Treasured" or "Handcrafted" weapons, which may have a higher damage rating. Additionally, it's stats are very nice, much better than on most crafted weapons. You should keep it in your backpack until you get your hand on the Screaming Mace or a crafted ebon weapon. Even now, having the Mace, I still keep the PGT with me, because some groups have resentments against the mace because it has an aggro debuff. This is of course nonsense, but sometimes it's just not worth the time to argue. <div></div><p>Message Edited by Harovan on <span class=date_text>05-31-2005</span> <span class=time_text>10:49 AM</span>

<DIV>It looked even better as gold in my purse. <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>At the level one can grab PGT, Ghoulbane, a far superior weapon choice for paladins is questable. If you have PGT, great, but use it as long as it takes you to get GB.</DIV>

<span><blockquote><hr>Araknar wrote:<p>kinda of a side not but ull find u can hit 0 t5 epic mobs with pgt and even some heroic named are immune to it beyong lvl 45</p> <hr></blockquote>I didn't say you can kill Venekor with it. But there are quite some heroic and epic mobs in high 30s or low 40s where it definitely will help. Think Coldtooth or Fyst as examples. As for Ghoulbane, shrug, it is of course the better weapon, damage-wise. I used it a lot when soloing. But tanking it does not help much. Its proc goes off only on undead and thus, will only on undead produce extra hate. Doing damage is not the main mission of the tank, and even then he does most of it with spells and arts, so the damage of the weapon does not matter much. Especially for a paladin, who's taunts are sub-par and who has to resort to heals and buffs to keep hate, every little bit helps. PGT stats are also slightly better than GB stats</span><span> for the tank, as he can use AGI more than STR. </span><div></div>

<DIV>GB is highly overated and since it was nerfed is pretty much useless as a weapon, although better than standard crafted weapons crafted rare weapons are far superior.</DIV>
