<DIV>I've seen a few recent posts regarding where to hunt at what level for good XP.  I was surfing around on <A href="http://eq2.ogaming.com" target=_blank>http://eq2.ogaming.com</A> one weekend at various quests by zone when I stumbled across something that looked like a lot of fun.  I missed this with my main, but decided it might be fun to try with a group of ALTs several friends and I had just started a day or two before.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I believe we started this quest around 18-21 range and it was an absolute blast.  For those of you that are well past the early 20's keep this thread in mind for your ALTs.  It's definitely worth the fun and XP.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Our evil alts completed this quest even though its on the Antonica side so don't let that hinder your willingness to try.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Start by speaking to Ignar Steadirt near the Claymore in Antonica.  He will give you an access quest to enter Firemyst Gully.  The access quest doesn't require a great deal of time, but my entire group decided to start on square one so all players would have access.  (Detailed notes @ <A href="http://eq2.ogaming.com/db/quests/LordGrimrotsScythe.php" target=_blank>http://eq2.ogaming.com/db/quests/LordGrimrotsScythe.php</A>)</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Once you gain access to the zone, visit the Dwarf encampment and speak with an NPC named Sir Thothur Dorarr.  He will ask you to basically "cleanse" the zone.  (Detailed notes @ <A href="http://eq2.ogaming.com/db/quests/CleansingoftheFiremystGully.php" target=_blank>http://eq2.ogaming.com/db/quests/CleansingoftheFiremystGully.php</A>)</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>You may stay in this zone for many hours and clear mob after mob for tons of XP.  Once you get into the 21-23 range (don't recall) mobs start turning gray, but a group of 5-6 in the high teens through say 21 will love this zone.  It is an instanced area with more mobs then you can imagine.  Completing the quest grants one of the notorious cleansing items such as:</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Dwarven Sword of Cleansing (great tank item until you get Berik's or a rare imbue).  In addition to the sword, players may pick from a war hammer, a dagger, a staff and a mace.  Each party member will be rewarded with this item and it has a nice little proc for one your first good loot drops at a low level.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I really enjoyed both quests and the zone.  It's sad I missed it with Kalen, but I couldn't imagine not doing it with any ALT I create.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Thanks,<BR>Kalen</DIV>

It is a great zone, lots of fun. Last time I was in it, just about everything was a group mob. The boss mob is a tough SOB. Take a little bit of money, as you will need to buy torches and shovels from the merchant in the zone. You only need 1 shovel, but will need several torches. The graves on the ground can be dug up to spawn more mobs.
