<DIV> </DIV> <DIV>It is a good damage weapon with a proc that lowers taunt and adds str/power(?).  Anyone had issues with losing aggro with it?</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I would like to use it but didn't want to get flack for it. </DIV>

<P>I use it, I'm a lvl 50 paladin, never had problems losing agro with it, look at the proc carefully, ull see the agro reduction on it is about half the agro u get from a single taunt so as long as u keep hitting and taunt (mace proc is nice that the extra power lets u practically special constantly) you should never lose agro.</P> <P> </P> <P>I have been using this about a month and is probably the most used weapon I have, has put bloodfire and ebbc in the backpack since i got it</P> <P> </P> <P>Steelle lvl 50 paladin</P>

I would be using it, but The Torturer seems to spend more time underneath the world than in it lately

Ya torturer has eluded me since march sadly. I have had him killed in front of me several times and one time killed by my guild group while i was LD. I would probably be using this weapon now and was hoping to use it but have gotten the Hardened Metallic Hammer since. IMO the Screaming Mace is the best 1handed crushing weapon next to the Hardened Metallic and there is another hammer with close to same stats as the Hardened metallic without the proc.

I have multiple top level weapons from royal great flail to prismatic, and the screaming mace is as good as those weapons.  The proc rocks.  As for the quest it was easy until you get to the Terrorfiend part.  Even if you kill one you might not get update.  And the terrorfiends are bugged into the wall 90% of the time.  I contacted a GM and he said it is working as intended... so they are no help.

<P>hehe yeah i must admit i got a little abusive with a gm when i petitioned all the stuff being stuck in walls and the gm replied with "there is no problem with the spawns as spawns take care of them selves everything is working as intended"</P> <P> </P> <P>so of coarse my next responce was " hey get your [Removed for Content] down here and take a bloody look for yourself dimwit!"</P> <P> </P> <P>which i got no responce from him for some reason.....<img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></P> <P> </P> <P>Steelle lvl 50 paladin</P>

lol yesterday he spawned again under the world on nektulos, so i petitioned and me and a group of guildies went down to the spawn where you could hear the lizard sounds. I got a answer in less than a minute from a GM. He came, was all nice and stuff went underworld to see the mob was down there then told us to wait a minute. He then camped out and logged back in to tell us we have to wait for the mob to spawn like others. How the hell are you suppose to spawn a mob that is already up and even if it wasnt you couldnt wait because his PHs would be underworld?

Many believe the deaggro actually offsets the aggro generated from the mace's buff on the proc. I have never lost aggro because the mace proc'd multiple times, and in the end, any aggro loss is negated by the power benefit.

I use it all the time. It's a great weapon for grouping and soloing, and I haven't taken it off since I got it.

I am a 46 pally, and this weapon is the most used weapon in my backpack.  If anything because of the extra mana the mace provides i keep agro better, because i am using more nukes and special attacks.  I have even ended fights with full, or near full mana.  I trade off to the ebbc when i am off tanking and want to lay down more damage in a short period of time. <div></div>

I spent the best part of my 40's in Cazic-Thule camping mobs for this [expletive ninja'd by Faarbot] quest. I got everything except the torturer relatively quick. The torturer escaped me for a good week. Finally I got him, already at level 47 or 48. But now with the torturer slain, the real torture started. Camping terrorfiends (uncommon spawn) for the key (rare drop). And as if that was not already bad enough, the fiend spawns were broken for about 2 weeks. The fiends did not respawn at their places. May be they were underworld, as mentioned above. Hell knows. Finally, and already at level 50, a Xiggalg raid brought relief. One of the minions was a terrorfiend, and this one dropped the [expletive ninja'd by Faarbot] key. One hour later I had the mace in my hands. The quest was horrible. It was frustrating, time consuming and boring. I wrote an appropriate feedback. I spent 80-90% of my time throughout my 40s in this dreaded zone. But the reward was well worth it. It is a great weapon for a paladin, no matter if he is tanking or soloing. The threat loss is only worth half of a taunt and easily compensated, as the power gain allows multiple extra taunts. The strength buff comes handy too, and I suspect already makes off for the threat loss. The weapon goes off about once per minute and the effect lasts more than 30 seconds. Even off-tanking I love to use the mace at times, especially on long epic encounters. I use the two-hander till my power is down and then switch to the mace. Makes up for quite some extra sworn strikes or refusals of grace. <div></div>

<DIV>Does the mace have a legendary or fabled rating?</DIV>

<DIV>As far as I can tell the SM is the 3rd best choice for a 1h crusher. I think for Pali the best option is the Scourge of Curses, it has better stats and a divine proc which is ideal for our lvl 50 debuff. ( this is a fabled item and not easily attained ) The end all be all of all 1h crushers is the Hardened Metallic Hammer . It is the 1h crusher equal to the Soulharvester and it also is extrealy difficult to get your hands on (fabled drop from raid mob). </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I use the SM when I know I will be using alot of power on raids for the proc. I also use it because I can be repaired for free and on the fly. </DIV> <DIV>The deaggro proc has never been an issue and if you do not have access to fabled gear this is your best option</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Knickknac</DIV> <DIV>Permafrost</DIV><p>Message Edited by stasis222 on <span class=date_text>06-06-2005</span> <span class=time_text>12:02 PM</span>

<P>I strongly resisted using the screaming mace, because I like to use swords for roleplay reasons.</P> <P>That said, I have been converted to using it.</P> <P>I was solo, in CT, killing the Glare Lord spawns that have the small golems with them (just inside the lower area).</P> <P>The named spawned on me. It is level 48, and still has all the adds.</P> <P>He would take me from full health to about half in about 10-20 seconds. I was out of power very fast and he still was half health. I was using my Electrified Bone Bladed Claymore. I switched to my screaming mace, and I was able to regen power fast enough to not only keep healing to keep myself alive, but when I finally won, ages later, I was at 75% mana. Sure, part of this is that the mob ran out of power, but even so, the mace made a huge difference. Had I not been procing it early on, I never would have had the power to cast my heals.</P> <P>I have not parsed it, but I suspect that the screaming mace might even be more dps than EBBC if you account for being able to use your attacks so much more without running out of power. For short fights, the EBBC is going to win, but if your fights last long enough to make a dent in your power, I suspect that SM might actually be more dps.</P> <P>-I</P>
