<DIV>What I mean is that my paladin in EQ1 were never healing.  I were tanking spaming stun to get aggro and my 30sec str buff.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>If a groupmate would be getting hitted.  Healing him would just suck. I had to taunt and stun untill I got aggro back.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>The only time I were healing with my paladin si with lay of hand that is on a 45min re-use time.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Is paladin are different in EQ2 ?</DIV>

<P>Pallys in EQ2 are so diverse..</P> <P>Our heals and wards are always very useful but use a lot of power. Thats the plus and minus.</P> <P>Power regen is the key to being a better pally here...</P> <P>With power i'd say we were the best tanks out there, especially in grps (aggro management debatable in raids etc) but when the power is gone we are perhaps the worst.</P>

<DIV>At 50, except for soloing, wards are generally a waste of power. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>However, our heals and DPS excellent (until combat changes are live). Power management and overall HP are kind of weak but both can be relatively off-set by good gear decisions and group make up. Also, I think our AE's are underrated. During the 8 mob fight just before killing Arti'cae's Summoner, I pulled 190 dps just spamming the AE's. Again, with changes coming to how spells and melee blows land, we will just have to wait.</DIV><p>Message Edited by Ansiri on <span class=date_text>05-18-2005</span> <span class=time_text>05:57 AM</span>

I'm a fighter Jim, not a doctor!  Seriously though, yes we heal quite well in a pinch.  I have filled in for clerics in groups/raids before when one bites the dust, and then rezed them back right after that (with 40% power and health to boot).  I can't begin to tell you how many times I have saved someone's butt in a group/raid, and usually they don't even know who did it. :smileywink:

Even at my low level, I have had several instances where my diversity and especially my healing has prevented numerous deaths if not total group wipes.

<P>What alot of classes don't appreciate or thank Paladins for is their ability to see the "bigger picture". The fact that we have healing abilities and hate abilities means that as a class we are hitting away at mobs and unconsciously looking at peoples health to make sure they are okay, and that's even WITH a healer class! Lay hands, 40% rez, Rescue, Doom Judgement (or equivalent AOE damage). We are basically the last line of defense, I know this sounds corny but this is a "not-to-be-ignored" statement for other classes.</P> <P>In many respects we are the ultimate class, a bit of everything borrowed at the high end scale, designed to stay to the end and throw that last spell or ability that wins the day...Only my closest friends who have grouped with me for yonkers will keep battering away until their hp is close to dying because they know I got their back with lay hands and in fact will stay there until I say "RUN" and they do exactly that.</P>

um i healed all the time in EQ1. take away our offense for wave heals and better agro, we basically same as eq1. and for you picky people, notice i said basically, not exactly. for now, we are still second to guardians (warriors) for MT role.
