<DIV>Alright, this is probably a bad question, but just want to be positive. I am a dark elf, who will betray to Qeynos and become a Paladin. Right now I am only lvl 8 and am not sure which to choose for my character trait, 4 stamina, or 4 strength. Thank you for the help. :smileyhappy:</DIV>

<P>It really doesn't matter at this stage dude, these are traits that all eventually get chosen until none are left. Sta or Str are either good for pallies, personally I like STR because higher strength means u hit harder. With the upcoming changes (if not already made changes) then to have any decent DPS you may be better off with STR anyway.</P> <P> </P> <P>Up to you, both are essential as a tank <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></P>

I love the look of a dark elf Paladin, however, I didn't want the attributes of being a dark elf. Maybe you should consider just starting out with a Human/dwarf/barb etc..and just do the Guise of the Deceiver quest. Just an idea...

id dont matter, but go with strwhy? becouse you always use it. your hitting harder, wich means your always using it. Tank off tank solo, whatever your always hitting.
<DIV>I would suggest STR first followed closely by STA. STA will impact your overall health (hit points), but STR is one of our primary attributes.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Don't give being a Dark Elf Paladin a second thought regarding starting stats. You'll find equipment and gear in game that makes up for the low areas you have now. I came from the old school D&D where only humans could play the part of a Paladin. I don't mind other races being a Paladin, but for myself I decided to stick with human as I do on so many MMORPGs.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>At level 47, my STR unbuffed is 136 and my STA is 125. My original goal was to get STR > 100 to get a few bonuses, but it just seems to keep climbing as I replace gear. My current focus is to increase my defenses as much as possible and build HP as high as possible. I could have easily had another +10 to STR by selecting a different race, but play what you enjoy and never give it a second thought <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>The game now includes dolls and rings that can crank up stats over 30 points when stacked if you are really concerned by tier 5. I would suggest STR and STA related rings and dolls from your rare harvests and imbues. Although ring stats don't appear to stack (can't have two imbued rings that both stack STR, but you could have 1 STR and 1 STA imbued ring) you can carry two dolls that work together to increase a stat. (Example: pristine ruin imbued linen hex doll - one in each equippable slot or possible one of those with a STR doll)</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Thanks,<BR>Kalen</DIV>

Remember, STR and WIS effect max power. STR is more important for that but again you have to think of what your role will be. Pallys can be great at DPS so strength will help you there (again this depends on when or if they nerf our dps) with damage as well as allowing you to use more combat skills (i.e more power). STA will give you more hp and thus make you harder to kill, making you a better tank. Personally, I tank quite a bit so I make sure my STA is high (currently 148 self buffed at lvl 45) so that when I tank, ill last longer. It might be that Im partial to HP because in EQ1 that is what I went with on my old pally. Just try to figure out what your role will be when you get to the higher levels, or even now. Do you prefer to be an offtank (were great at it with or avoid/mit buffs) and add dps while watching the casters butts or would you rather like to get pummeled and live longer. The choice is yours, which is why this is such a great game =) Zaloorb Tundrasteppe 45th Season Paladin Initiate of Phoenix Legion, Oasis Server <div></div>
