I want to start a new character, a Paladin. I've played Paladin in a few other games like EQoA and really enjoyed just being a Paladin. Only problem is it's going to be Ratongan:smileyhappy:. So I need a little help with Stats, and I have a few other simple questions. First off, the questions: 1.) I know Paladins are capable of healing themselves. But, can you heal your self well? 2.) What Trade Skill class goes along side Paladin well? 3.) Is a Paladin's power based on the amount of Wisdom he/she has? Now to Stats: Ratongans as many know aren't natural fighter. What stats should I focus on primarily? I know I really don't need to work on Agility. So it's either Strength, Stamina or Wisdom... If anyone could help me, especially an advanced Paladin, even Ratongan hehe, it would be most appreciated.:smileyhappy: Thanks in Advance~

1.) I know Paladins are capable of healing themselves. But, can you heal your self well?
We can heal about half as well as a healer of a similar same level - or as well as a healer 10 - levels below us but that doesn't paint the whole picture. Our heals can be interupted in combat and have "downtime" to be concerned with. We are by no means a healer that can spam heal, even our most rapid heal is: HEAL (2 seconds casting time) ... twiddle thumbs for 5 seconds HEAL (2 seconds casting time). We have a couple more powerful heals but their timers are much longer (5min / 30min). In combat senerios you'll find you'll use them to shore up your health (making it seem as iuf we have a larger healthpool than we do) and to help the healers if they are having trouble keeping up. Above all else these things produce AGRO so don't be shy about using them.
2.) What Trade Skill class goes along side Paladin well?
Your choice in the end - Alchmists can make your combat art upgrades - armouer can make your armoru - talior can make hex dolls - weponsmith can mka eyour weapons provisioner can keep you stocked up with food / drink. etc. etc. unless you really craft your heart out you'll end up with your adventure level higher thanyour tradeskill most times so whatever you DO make 9/10 you've outgrown it anyway
3.) Is a Paladin's power based on the amount of Wisdom he/she has?
A Paaldin's powerpool is determined by both STR and WIS... although strength is much more effective at this. But a high wisdom will reduce your number of fizziles on your spell casting. high stats in each are desirable. In fact Paladins use EVERY STAT except intelligence in one degree or another... so allways try and keep your stuff upgraded.
In the end, it doesn;t matter what RACE you are it is all just flavour in the big game, just thorw yourself into the role and see what you need to concentrate on as you move up the levels. You may find you are allways running out of health too quivk - get more +STA gear, need more power +STR getting hit too much try and raise your avoidance or mitigation.

Message Edited by boli on 04-27-2005 09:28 AM

In combat I can use 4 heals atm : Virtous Touch : Mana free big heal, only usable once per 30 minutes. Devout Aid : 520+ heal, usable every 5 seconds, the level 30 training heal (heals for 499, but is more mana efficient), Devout Sacrament : 1100 + self heal for very little mana, usable every 5 minutes. 2.)
