New Woodelf Paladin Question

I hit level 8 last night and it asked me which stat I wanted boosted. I selected strength as its a liitle low on the wood elf's, although I didn't base it on anything else. How often do we get these stat boosts, and which ones would be good to pick for a Paladin? Thank You <div></div>
