Gear Check: Farghus (lvl 32)

Dunno if this kind of thing is done anymore or not, but in EQ1, most of the class specific boards had places where guys would link there magelo profile for comments/advice on current gear and future upgrades.  I don't have magelo, but I do have the spiffy "advanced profile" or whatever they call it here. I think I'm doing pretty good, gear wise, atm.  Imbued Feysteel seems top of the line for my BP/Legs.  Other gear isn't bad.  The link will show my two hander equiped (yes, I've gone to a two hander again after the change to Arems, as was suggested here).  I also have PGT and Weakened Ghoulbane for one handers. Fishbone Earring is a must, both for +Sta and Water Breathing. With a few higher level friend the Ancient Slayer's Ring of Stamina is simply an -awesome- quest and reward. yup, got Weakened Ghoulbane and PGT available for one handers.  Debating if I want to pop for a rare shield, or wait on that until t5...

For a shield I would go for guard of Grumm. Guard of Grumm is a quest reward for a quest in Nek Castle. And I wouldn't invest in a T5 rare shield either, but go for the SBS, it's kiteshield version is great. <div></div>

<P>SBS is much better then the Deputy Badge (my current shield until I can find some help in the Citadel for SBS).  However, it's on par with the pristine imbued cedar kite--not WAY better.</P> <P>The concept here is SBS is easy to obtain should you find a group for post-trial-6, while pristine imbued cedar kite shields require a rare and an uncommon in tier 5.  It's hard to justify spending the extra money for the later shield when you can quest and solo in the early 40's all 6 trials for SBS (5 hour wait between trials).  If money isn't a concern and you want the BEST now--go pristine imbued cedar kite as the shield factor is higher on the rare, while other stats are pretty comparable.</P> <P>I was thinking pristine imbued cedar for myself, but now that I'm so close to completing SBS and they are so comparable and 820 Kite Shields are within reason quest wise at level 45, I'll stick with SBS and give my first rare cedar to my swashbuckler buddy for his pristine imbued cedar longbow.</P> <P>Thanks,</P> <P>Kalen</P>
