Arem's Enlightened Judgement now requires a 2h weapon on the Test Server, as it probably always should have done, but it was nice while it lasted. Make use of it before the test changes go live They're also removing timers on a lot of buffs, which is nice.

That really bites. The only reason I tookt that skill is because I was told CORRECTLY I might add, that I could use it with a 1 handed weapon. Please allow me to respec as I never ever ever use a 2 hander. I don't care if you change it as long as I am able to respec. I shouldn't have a worthless training skill that I never use because the devs messed up the description of the ability. Just allow me to respec. Please.

The description does say require a 2 handed weapon, but it always worked with a 1h. I'm just glad they allowed us to have it for this long, but it will be hard to choose between that and holy sunder now that it works. 17

They still messed up the description of the ability because the two didn't match. That means there was two possible outcomes.

1.) The ability was right and the description was wrong. The devs would change the description to match the actual ability.

2.) The description was correct and the ability was wrong. The devs would change the ability to match the description.

I figured, incorrectly that #1 was the correct solution. I chose the skill and used my 1 handed weapon with it. Now they are changing it. I am ok with that, just allow those who did take the ability to respec. Because the dev's messed it up, I had a 50-50 chance at guessing which of the two solutions they would choose. If I had picked the other way and chosen the skill so I could use a 2 hander with it and the devs changed the description to match what the skill actually does, I would be just as unhappy.

We have all seen in the past couple months just how messed up the majority of spell descriptions are. The descriptions say something along the lines of "as a .01% chance to...", "casts skill X upon termination..." and so on and so on. I figured this was just another 1 of the 100 messed up spell descriptions. Now we find out this is the 1 skill that actually had a correct description! Figures! :smileymad:

All I am asking is to be allowed to respec. I am not asking something impossible, unreasonable or unprecedented. I just want to be allowed to pick my skills KNOWING what they will do and how they will affect my character. The devs have said MANY times that nothing that affects your character should be a secret. This was. I don't want to be stuck with skills that are useless to my character because they don't fit my playstyle. Had I known in advance this is what would have happened, I would have never chosen this skill. Please just let me respec. Thanks.

You can , type /respec If you've already done this then well, how many times do you want to respec? every patch? It's not a big deal, the training spells aren't game breaking, just a nice bonus (you can probably get better with an adept III or a master, I'm not saying they're east to get but in no way are you broken now)

I think the biggest misdescription of any skill I've seen is Ruse, which, for brigands, allows an attack every 60 secs doing over 1,000 damage even at lower levels. The text says 'procs when the brigand is hit', i.e. they must have aggro, but they can in fact use it in groups when not tanking. Makes Arem's look like tickling the enemy with a feather...

Oh well gives me an excuse to use my shiny brass halbard. Maybe even while soloing, as it will probably make up for the extra dammage from not having a shield with the bonus heals. Lets hope they've fixed all the other broken CA's and spells as they've decided to fix the only broken benificial one we had.

Message Edited by CloakVai on 04-02-2005 05:12 AM

I got blindsided by this nerf, and I'm not pleased at all about it. No, it isn't game breaking, but it is almost punitive to those of us who took the ability, and now have no benefit from it. I don;t even own a two hander anymore. Using Starfall at the moment, got Weakened Ghoulbane sitting in the bank waiting on Farghus to ding 32. Don't really see myself using a two-hander much at all in the future. If I group, I'm main tank, and the healer appreciates me using a shield. If I solo--as I do most of the time--I can do almost as much damage with the one-hander, and mitigate better. I started a thread on the Races and Characters Forum asking for a /respec over this. If you are so inclined, add a post to show support.

Don't worry, when you hit 50 you won't be MTing anymore, guardians will.

2H FOR THE WIN!

This change is almost harder to get used to than my poor horse was Its going to be hard to break the habit. It was good while it lasted though. 17

Go do the shiny brass halberd quest. Nice weapon and guild status points too. Or just look on the brokers for a new 2 handed toy. At the end of the day it was a bug and is now working as it should be. However, it does annoy me that they fix positive bugs as a priority and yet seem to ignore negative ones. Ho hum.

I don't know why some paladins insist that using a 2h weapon is blashemy. I find that when soloing or duoing with another tank (as I often do) we kill the mob much faster as the DPS is higher. A shield and 1h weapon has a role just as a 2h does. Don't sell youself short by thinking you should only use one. We are already limited in weapon choice as it is. I always carry both and since 9x out of 10 I am the second tank in a group I find that I use it more since I toss all of my utility buffs on the other tank.

Even duo'ing with a healer the 2h can be better. When I was 48 and I was duoing with a level 47 Templar we found we could kill level 49 ^ ^ group Tundra Terrors much more efficiently if I used my 2h and DPSed rather than played defensivly and used a 1h and shield. And this was a fix not a nerf. The description not only said that it required a 2 handed weapon, but it also says it's an upgrade to Power Cleave, which also requires a 2 handed weapon, AND It is on the same timer as all of the other powers that require a 2 handed weapon. You were only deluding yourself if you thought this wouldn't eventually get fixed.

At level 34 i still used Arem's though it coned green to me using HO, arems and the very first taunt recieved at lvl 4. I was able to average about 100 hp per Ho combo. along with blazing faith i would get even more all at very little power expenditure.

This was definately my bread and butter for soloing. But hey it was good while it lasted. It's not like we've been nerf'd and [Removed for Content]'d to death.
