<DIV>Hi there. Pally was my second main in Eq1 but just started out here (juust made 20) and finding it rather different. Wonder if I can trouble you all with a few questions. I'm a particularly good looking human, based in qeynos, in case  it matters...</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>1- I felt I was doing ok in the early teens - I was getting good gear from quests so spent cash on adept1s and App 4s  - but lately my spells / abilities seem to be falling behind. Simple reason for that is that by the time I made 20 most of my armour was blue (and some green) and I just figured I had to upgrade to plate before I did anything else (I still plan to do the AQ quests, just not in chain!) . Anyway, spent what cash I had and now I'm wondering if I should turn off combat xp and farm for adepts to fill out the abilities still at App 2 before going on. Seem to drop a lot in blackburrow but much less in stormhold. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>2. Assuming I have to make some tough choices, the next question is what to upgrade... My armour is ok now but jewelry sucks and many abilities / spells low. Which are more important?</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>3. In terms of abilities, obviously, not going to upgrade ones which will be replaced soon (I was going for the bashing shield thing but note it gets replaced at 27) but beyond that I'm wondering between aggro abilities,  tanking self-buffs, and other-buffs (I figure DPS ones are a luxury for soloing). What do people find most useful - more aggro, more HP/Defense or say LOH, or the abilitiy to buff other toons? I got my ward to adept 1 first, then my taunts but not sure on rest - knights stance maybe?</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>4. I picked tend wounds as a racial trait at 18. Ok, this was really dumb. I dinged unexpectedly doing quest turn ins, found that I had  to make a choice to get the reward, the server was going down any second for scheduled maintenance and just took something. Yeah I know dumb. Looking back, this ability frankly sucks and I really should have picked the +defense option. Thats like 1 level right? Am I screwed? I can't seem to change my choice using respec and I don't want to tank 1 level below everyone else for the rest of Eq2. But I read somewhere here that everyone just picks the same ones in different order? Ie you get to pick each one once and only once so it doesn't make much difference? Kind of puzzled by that.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>5. I've now searched all of Qeynos's trainers and scribes and for some reason I can't find  App2's for Knights stance, Bashing shield thingy and (I think) Vigour of trust. This seems weird, everyone offered me LOH off the bat. Am I missing trainer somewhere - I did a full circuit? Searched here and noone else is posting this as an issue so must be. Or are some abilities non upgradeable?</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>6. On other trait type things, strength or stamina? Usually I'd say staminaa is hardest to raise, and HP never hurt, but am I right in thinking that Str affects power as well as dammage. As we tank uising wards, that sounds like a good choice... Still my streght seems really high -50ish- whereas my others are mjuch lower. Thoughts?</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Sorry for so many questions! Many thanks for answers in advance though... </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Llanfer</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV>

Not a point by Point response, but some general Info. I was feeling the same way you are now around that level.  Alot of my stuff was going Green/Gray and alot of ym skills were as well. But keep going, go do the AQ's if you want, at least the 1st few as they arn't that hard.  I got most my Armor and still do from Guildmates at a very reasonable cost so I manage to keep it all Conning Yellow/Orange now.  Im lv 34 now and I feel that Paladin is one of the strongest Classes in the game. As for Skill upgrades, that depends on your play style. I pretty much have all my skills at Adept I if I can find them, I get them from drops, friends, Auctions and Brokers.  Always watch for them, even if you are still a few levels from using them!  But some Adepts just don't seem to drop ever, so just find an App III or IV on a broker, or OOC/Auction for one while in town or about that you are looking to have something made. I let my right side of my Inv items get pretty sad, and you know I found out they are just as important as our Armor!  They add alot of stats when totaled up, and the extra resistances they give help a ton in major fights. Hope this helps you some, and keep going, in the 20's we only get better! <div></div>

<DIV>FIrstly welcome to eq2.  But to break it down.  Into justification.  If you plan on power leveling to 50 and you have a solid game team then the AQ is not worth it.  Spell upgrades are ALWAYS worth it.  I will post by normal saying... "Redemption - Adept 3 withaladin out a doubt."  You should have minimum App 4 or better in all your spells and abilities.  Your heals and wards are very important.  Taunts are a must upgrade.  Also, harvest harvest harvest, even if you don't sell the commons the rares make up for it doing various upgrades, spell upgrades and such.  But I can tell you, take your time, have fun leveling, do quests, see various zones.  Rushing to 50 you will find is easy, and not very profitable, you take your time you will always be well equipped and have more money in your pocket book. </DIV>
