View Full Version : Running two Redemptions at once?
<DIV>Prior to this week's patch I could run redemption on two group members at the same time. Now it stays gray while running. I noticed a similar thing with Blessing of the Penitent and Prayer of Devotion needing a 20 second recharge between castings. And if either of those spells is up I have to drop them for 20 seconds before recasting. Anybody know if this is a bug or by design?</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> - Rilkar</DIV>

I was wondering about the Blessing of the Penitent and Prayer of Devotion as well. Myself and a few friends logged in and went straight to the new zones the moment we could download the new patch and get in-game. However, I noticed halfway in, I never had my BotP or PoD up, thanks to this new system of a recharge inbetween refreshes. To say the least it can be a pain in the butt watching the timers, taking them off inbetween fights and then putting them back on before you engage. Hopefully though this wasn't ment to happen and they'll have a fix for it. Of course, I'm just elated at some of the other fixes they gave us (such as the no horsey spam, woot!), if this comes down the pipe anytime soon it'll just be more icing on the cake. <DIV>My swashie friend and myself went to explore the Tombs of Night last night, and I had Redemption among some other buffs on him. We had to evac, so (if it's by design I'm not sure) Redemption and my training stat buff whose name eludes me were dropped automatically from him. But, I couldn't recast them at all. They stayed gray, even though my friend wasn't affected by them. They didn't appear in my maintained window either. Aegis of Hope behaved the same way. It wasn't waiting for the recast time; it was just ignoring the commands completely.</DIV>

I have noticed this too and have had many different classes indicate they are seeing the same thing with buffs. I can't believe this would be an intended change but I've been wrong before.

<DIV>Doesn't anyone read patch notes? <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV><BR> <BLOCKQUOTE> <HR> - <STRONG>Toggleable</STRONG> maintained spells will now begin their reuse timer when cancelled. They should block any other spells that are upgrades/downgrades of the same line while active, and should begin the reuse timers on those upgrades/downgrades when the blocking spell is cancelled.<BR><BR> <HR> </BLOCKQUOTE></DIV> <DIV>Before the patch, refreshing made you possible to avoid the recast timer.. I never thought that was intended. Whats the point of the timer then? I agree its bloody annoying though.. And one has to wonder, with 2 Redemptions active at once, were they actually both in effect or just the first / last cast one? heh..</DIV>

Personally I think the way buffing is now (with the recast) doesn't make a lot of sense now that the timers are so long. Before I can imagine a 3min buff you'd have to use tactically before a fight since with the recast time it wasn't viable to keep it up, but now with a 10-15min timer and a 20s recast its just more of an annoyance than anything. Certainly Aegis of Hope I find I hardly use now, it was pain keeping it up as it was considering by the time you've pulled, fought for a bit and moved on to the next mob its just about to fade (generally would say a fight lasts 1-2min). But its not worth cancelling it and recasting like before since it just resets the long timer on it. Since I assume toggling is going to be a permanent intentional thing (nothing wrong with clicking cancel in my opinion but hey, maybe bards missed being able to twist), I think Aegis of Hope should have its timer increased to 10min to be in line with other single target buffs <div></div>

If you hover over the buff icon it will tell you who the buff is on at the moment. It is of course possible to have Redemption running twice, on 2 different players. You need to wait at least 2 minutes before casting it on the second person though. <div></div>
