<DIV>Ok dinged 30 got my new pristin feyiron armor ( glad to get rid of the oven mits AQ ) and my Barik sword is lt blue. I have weakened Ghoulbane banked atm. Been trying to finish Ghoulbane but never get a chance at the named I need. What do you recomend I should be wielding?</DIV>
<DIV>Completing the Zek, Orcish Wastes boat ride should pop a chest with the blood-stained hammer that is a very nice 1-h/shield combo hammer that peaks around level 35. I have that banked now in case I don't find a better sword (my favorite thing to use). If you elect to go that route, buy a decent (cheap) crushing weapon and work on those skills. I had my slashing capped, but was in the low 40's on crushing since I'm always using a sword. I've been using at level 28 pristine forged carbonite hammer to increase crushing in anticipation of the blood-stained hammer.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I would also be interested in other posts on what to get next as I'm 28.30. I love swords so give us tips guys.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Thanks,</DIV> <DIV>Kalen</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>P.S. At level 28 I can not use the Sheer Bone Kite Shield (skills). However, I currently have the Snapper Shell Kite Shield equipped that shares almost identical characteristics including AC--a major upgrade from the Ancient Kite I was previously using. You 1h/shield guys hoovering in the upper 20's might want to shop around for one. I believe I'm 360ish already with the new shield and it caps at 417 AC @ level 33 (Sheer Bone 417 @ 35).</DIV><p>Message Edited by SanJun on <span class=date_text>01-21-2005</span> <span class=time_text>11:24 AM</span>

<DIV>Talk to a weaposnmith and get a pristine forged Feyiron weapon of your choice. They are pretty [expletive ninja'd by Faarbot] good for the cost.</DIV>

<DIV>Sheer Bone Kite Shield and Pristine Forged Feyiron Longsword. For a great two-handed weapon, go with the Gut-Ripper.. it's graphic is messed up so it looks like a giant pink box, but it has great stats for a 2handed weapon. I usually use 2h over 1h because the difference in tanking isn't enough to make me want to sacrafice dmg output, but when you wanna show off what kinda defense you can have at your level - it's always nice to have the sword/shield combo ready. :robothappy:</DIV>

i have a question based on your topic thread. is the Ghoulbane useable at 32 like the weakened or is it not useable until later
both are usable at 32 if i recall
<DIV>Yep, the Zek access quest (Bloodstained Hammer?) is a good item. The Ebon Maul can also be found by questing in Zek, which is a good 2-hander.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Regarding swords at that level (and this is purely from my experience), this is where the player-crafter weapons seem to compare well - and more importantly have much better availability - to drop/questable items. For example, in the last 7 levels, I have seen exactly 1 (one) one-handed sword usable by Paladins (i.e. not the ubiquitous dual-wield skilled swords) drop (a feysteel broadsword). </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Dropped/questable crushing weapons seem to be more prevalent than the (non-dual wield) slashing weapons. I'd say buy the best weapon you can.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>All this went out the door when I finished the Weakened Ghoulbane, which I use now almost exclusively when using a one handed weapon. Fast weapon, decent damage, good power/HP bonuses, etc. Plus, it's cool.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Vaden</DIV> <DIV>35 Paladin - Butcherblock</DIV>

<DIV>This is what I have for choices: Blood Stained Hammer, Weakened Ghoulbane and Berik, Sword Of Thunder. Cant use the hammer till 31 Im thinking and Ghoulbane at 32. Im gonna have to parse these out because I just love Berik with the proc. For all the trouble the Ghoulbane is to attain anyone really think its better than eventually getting Electrified Bone Bladed Claymore ? I know EBBC is lvl 40 or so but Ghoulbane is sure alot of work esp if your not guilded.</DIV>
