<DIV>Only lvl 28 here, but gonna pop my info <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Divine Inspiration - especially if i am maintanking, if another paladin in the group is maintanking (happens), i use Call to Arms.</DIV> <DIV>Blessing of the Penitent - I keep this up all the time, to pop in those essences, the heal is very nice when you get in a tight spot.</DIV> <DIV>Inflame as taunt - always</DIV> <DIV>Blinding Light - the AE taunt, that or smite prayer, doesnt really make a difference - again if there is 2 paladins in the group, i use the opposite then him, seeing as they stack, and 2x blinding light wont <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> (ofcourse i dont taunt as much... but just a bit for the debuff)</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>When im tanking i dont use glorious weapon, only have concentration for Knights Stance and Redemption - when soloing i usually put up both glorious and blessed weapon, to get as many procs as possible, and also use vigor of trust</DIV>

<DIV>Same as the guy above, but I don't use Redemption (ever), I use Glorious Weapon and Blessed Weapon.</DIV>
I use Redemption often. It rocked at Adept 1, and since I picked up a Master 1 version its become invaluable, I hardly have to waste mana on taunts anymore. I use it when I'm in full groups. In smaller groups I use Knight's Stance + Glorious Weapon + Vigor of TrustWhich taunts?Inflame (Adept 1) and Blinding Light (Adept 3)Which AE attacks?None unless there's 4+ mobs and its absolutely safe. Then both our upgraded AEs.Are you using knights stance or shining beacon?Knight's Stance 4 out of 5 times. Shining Beacon if I'm fighting stuff 5+ levels above me and I need the extra hate generation.Glorious weapon or blessed weapon?Glorious. Stacking the two does nothing as far as I can tell.Call of arms or divine inspiration?Divine Inspiration, no reason to use Call of Arms.<p>Message Edited by Rennyn on <span class=date_text>12-22-2004</span> <span class=time_text>01:12 PM</span>

<DIV>I mainly want to get other peoples thoughts on Knights Strance but I may as well run down my current playstyle while im at it.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I was looking at the actual effects of some spells last night and have decided against using Knights Stance as MT unless someone can prove it is worth it.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV><U>As Main Tank</U></DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Not only does it take 3 concentration to maintain and lowers your damage output (less agro) but the increase in defence looks very poor to me.</DIV> <DIV>At 24 I think it raises Shield 5 points and defence 5 points which in turn gives me gives me an extra 9 AC.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I prefer to use Vigor of Trust for one conc point as it raises STR + STA which in turn raises both my hitpoints (50ish extra) Power (15ish extra)</DIV> <DIV>and damage dealt (more agro) </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>For the remaining 4 conc points I usually cast Intervene on main healer & Redemtion (more agro) on main healer or on a DPS that may be stealing agro.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Then I mainly keep up Devine Inspiration (more agro) & Blessing of Penitent. I like toughness but 30 seconds is pathetic.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>As MT I alternate between Inflame(Agro), Unyielding Advance (Agro/Stun) & Demontstration of Faith(Ward/Agro)</DIV> <DIV>I use Blinding Light (AE agro) for multiple mob encounters.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV><U>As Off Tank/Support Tank/Peeler</U></DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I generally keep Vigor on myself and the MT for 2 conc points</DIV> <DIV>Intervene on Main healer for 2 conc points</DIV> <DIV>Blessed Weapon or Glorious Weapon for 1 Conc point (Only just got Glorius last night, not sure stacking does anything)</DIV> <DIV>Sometimes I may drop Blessed Weapon and my own vigor if I need to keep Redemtion on the main healer (if in constant danger)</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Once again Devine inspiration stays up for increased offence and to build some agro incase I need to peel a mob off a healer.</DIV> <DIV>I keep Ancient pledge & Offering of Armament on the MT as much as possible.</DIV> <DIV>I then generally use my attacks as needed (always depends on the fight and if you need to burn or save power)</DIV> <DIV>I also keep Demonstration on MT as much as possible (gives me some agro & helps healers save mana)</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I also top up group members health or my own if needed during and after fights with Blessed aid to help the healers a little.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I think thats about it, soloing is different again but this is long winded enough I think <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV>

<DIV>Paladin power management is an interesting discussion. I notice there are Type A and Type B minded paladins in groups, whether MT or not. More specifically, those who are aggressive at offense/nuking and others more aggressive with defense/healing/buffing. Ideally, you should be good at both to address your unique combat situation, but I think many times a leopard can't change its spots. Playstyle is playstyle.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Lately, I've been testing the Type A approach in groups. I have all my damage spells/CAs lined up like soldiers next to each other in the hotbar and hipshot them (and HOs) as they come online. Yes, I go OOP, but I feel I'm dealing an amazing amount of destruction (more when Power Cleave upgrades come online :smileymad<img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />. Soloing undead will do this to a pally. :smileyvery-happy:</DIV>
