<DIV>Paladins make a great leveling class.  You can be the main tank or secondary tank with ward/healing ability for the main tank.  We also solo very well due to the ability to tank and ward/heal ourselves.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>If you really want to level fast, make sure you choose a barbarian.  Best Paladin race there is.  The evils have races just as good but you have to waste time on that bretrayal quest.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I am a L21 Barbarian Paladin with 390 ATK and 1000 AC self buffed a WITHOUT a shield.  I eat blue one up arrow group mobs for lunch.  <img src="/smilies/8a80c6485cd926be453217d59a84a888.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></DIV><p>Message Edited by Valhakar on <span class=date_text>12-17-2004</span> <span class=time_text>08:51 PM</span>

<DIV>Valhakar, its people like u that should make up the whole world, thank you very much... i was afraid after reading threads that other newbies started, i would get an @$$ response like other questions newbies have asked, anyway, if you read this again, could you tell me at what levels should i quest or kill monsters to XP faster, i heard in the beginning 1-9 levels i should kill monsters at the newby island, and afterwards, do all the quests for better xp, and then group up and get to 50! -peace, hope i get another nice answer from some1</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Brutality - soon to be pally - Barbarian in the Everfrost server</DIV>

<DIV>I wandered the Newbie island to get the feel of the game till level 7 ++.  When I left the newbie zone I dinged to 9 my first kill.  I was on the isle for 10-11 days though doing the quests and getting the decent weapons/armor there.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>From there I did nothing but quests.  <A href="http://eq2.ogaming.com/db/index.php" target=_blank>http://eq2.ogaming.com/db/index.php</A> has the best Paladin stuff.  Only at level 20 did I start buying player made jewlery and armor.  If you take a peek at my paperdoll on the EQ2 site I have some nice stuff.  If you quest for everything and do multiple quests for the same critters ( ie gnolls for a scaled bracer and gnolls for a battle spike ) you get exp for your kills, exp for each quest, and some coin/gear.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I soloed my way to L16 doing armor quests.  At 16 I got in a single good group at the Scarcrows.  I could Main tank because of the decent gear.  I did 16.4 with 105% exp penalty to 18.12 in 3 hours.  From there I quested and soloed to 20 in a few days focusing on my gathering skills.  You will need mining and possibly trapping later in the game for quests.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>At 20 I hit Stormhold.  My leveling slowed because of the ammount of money to be made there.  I focused on making gold (shop has 10 gold of sales so far and I have no tradfe skills).  Now at 21.5 I have heavy armor, done to Armor Quest 3, 30 AC jewlery all around, and 72 slots of carrying.  I was born 20 days ago and this is my first character in the game so I had some learning time to burn.  </DIV><p>Message Edited by Valhakar on <span class=date_text>12-17-2004</span> <span class=time_text>09:28 PM</span>

<DIV>i was wondering... 3 things... 1st... how do u track down armorsmiths and weaponsmiths to create u a weapon for low coin... 2nd... is there some sort of market in Qeynos (besides the black market) where only good players can buy eachothers stuff, (what are the NPC names who u go to who have those players' items to buy)... and 3rd... CAN YOU OR CAN YOU NOT face up against players of the opposite side (good or evil) and go all out PLAYER vs. PLAYER, no warning, just go up to them and start fighting them nomatter what each others levels are..?</DIV>

<DIV>my 5 cents worth..... heres my guide to power leveling can change to crusader in 3 hours, at least my fighter changed to a brawler in 3hrs or so. But my paladin took 3 hrs to get to lvl 6... haha</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>During character selection, select a class that you'll enjoy seeing, eventually all the class will do about the same. Although babarian might do 2-3 dmg more then a gnome for the start, 2-3 dmg is barely seen compare to hundreds of dmg later in the game.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Lvl1 - skip tutorial, if you are new  attend it, studying it indepth will prolly takes u 10-15 mins.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Lvl2-6 follow the main quest of isle of refuge until u get the quest to kill the stupid orc. This will bring u to level 5+ or maybe 6.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Lvl 6-9 run around qyenos explore new areas give you exp. amazing amount when ur low level. Try to get delivery quests which are red to you. Example NQ inn has a dwarf would get u to go Qyenos habour to get some fish etc.</DIV> <DIV>When the quest is red in colour when u open ur journal, the quest will reap u large amount of exp.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Also before level 7, u needa do the qyenos citizen ship guide </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>As when u reach level 8+-9 go to oak myst forest and party some lvl 10s-11, try to get a healer if possible. And kill some oakmyst great bears. Remember to get the greatbear quest from the tailor shop in North qyenos. If u do it before level 10 u'll reap great amount of exp and get an uber item for low level.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>after which, perform your subclass quest and you'll receive title of crusader when u level to lvl 10. At the point just do quest, fight mob, try to mix around it to have more elements of fun.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>My 5 cents worth</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>lvl 27 Human paladin</DIV> <DIV>lvl 10 outfitter</DIV> <DIV>Guild tempest</DIV> <DIV>Faydark</DIV> <DIV> </DIV>

<DIV>Weapons can be quested for.  They Qeynos sword will get you started and you HAVE to do that quest.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>After that focus on Antler handled maul and Willowwood maul.  Once you are mid teens you can buy weapons off a broker or just a vendor.  *hint*  Kill badgers */hint*</DIV>
