<DIV>I just got Oath STrike and was wondering whether using Blinding Light or Smite prayer affects damage output. I believe resistances decrease damage you take from that damage type. I remember fighting some slime mob and I had 2x as high fire resistance than cold resistance. The slime would attack me with cold attack then fire attack. Cold attacks did 2x the damage of fire ones. I believe the attacks had the same name, just fire instead of cold. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>So does upgrading blinding light or prayer make a difference in damage output when using divine damage spells?</DIV>

Didn't see any change myself but I just use Smite Prayer or Blinding Light anytime a group encounter comes in with plenty of adds. I think it will just reduce the resist rates on our DD Spells. Oath Strike is just an attack that, once laded, will result in divine damage. So I assume the mob only resists it by successfully defending himself against a melee attack.I am still going with Smite Prayer/Blinding Light. But not on solo encounters, I don't think it is worth the power.
