View Full Version : Moorgard's message about Paladin Horse a.k.a. Flavor spells
<DIV>For those of you who complained the horse was slow, you should switch gears and just be really happy it's as fast as it is, because it was never intended to be. Look at this post from Moorgard, sorry don't know how to direct you to the actual post, but here's the link to the thread.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV><A href="http://eqiiforums.station.sony.com/eq2/board/message?board.id=spellart&message.id=9611#M9611" target=_blank>http://eqiiforums.station.sony.com/eq2/board/message?board.id=spellart&message.id=9611#M9611</A></DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>edit: link takes you to the right page, just scroll down for Moorgard's reply</DIV><p>Message Edited by Reevah on <span class=date_text>12-16-2004</span> <span class=time_text>11:33 AM</span>

<DIV>YIKES! </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>OK....no sudden movements.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Everyone....back away from Moorguard....slowly...slowly....bow as you exit. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Let us never speak of this again. Pray silently to Marr, Tunare or the diety of your choice that we keep the mount speed buff. I cannot go back to lumbering around.</DIV>
<DIV>I thought that with the absence of PvP in this game, nerf calls would be an occurrence I wouldn't have to deal with (as with SWG, where the entire messageboard is nothing more than a stream of nerf cries). I guess I was wrong. I am always amazed at the number of miserable crybabies that come out of the woodwork in MMORPGs.</DIV>

<DIV>well, honeslty...my swashie feels very cheated by his crappy make other chars lower level than you do a /flustered. That has got to be the crappiest craptastic thing in the game.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>However, my SK...well....considering how slow he moves with all that armor on...yea we need a speed boost. But I can see where others feel cheated....</DIV>
<DIV>I have other characters/classes in the game to! Honestly, I couldn't give a rat's [expletive ninja'd by Faarbot] that they don't have a speed buff. Class-envy is ridiculous, and is the equivalent of a child stomping his feet in a toy store because his parents won't buy him a toy.</DIV><p>Message Edited by Crytul on <span class=date_text>12-16-2004</span> <span class=time_text>12:27 PM</span>

<DIV>I'm reasonably certain that full Jboots are in the game.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I'm reasonably certain they will be faster than the Horse. And I'm reasonably certain the most horses are will be faster than our horse.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>So after Jboots are found, and more people start buying horses, I'm reasonably certain no one will care.</DIV>

<DIV>The thing is speed is very important in the game. Otherwise horses would be 1 gold, jboots wouldn't have been offered as an insentive to preorder the game, the quest to get real jboots wouldn't be so hard, and classes wouldn't get speed buffs as a class ability.</DIV> <DIV>Trying to rationalize the bug by saying at lvl 40 or higher the average player will be able to buy a faster running horse or that you can get fast jboots verses paying a few silvers at 20 doesn't work well imo.</DIV> <DIV>So enjoy the spell as it is for however long it lasts, understand it is a bug and other slow moving classes with non-bugged fluff spells might feel justifiably put out.</DIV>

Some people will never be happy with their CHOSEN character class because, as a previous poster mentioned, they are just cry babies whining about every little discrepency in the game!Comon people! Paladins are Knights! It is only right to be able to have a Holy Steed AS WELL AS have that steed run fast than anyone on foot. I mean really! How rediculous would it be to have a steed running at full gallup only to see a tiny gnome running along side as if it were a jog in the park? Yes it is a fluff spell. BUT A HORSE IS JUST PLAIN FASTER THAN SOMEONE ON FOOT!I don't see this as a problem at all, and I too play other character types besides Paladins. And I don't have a problem at all when I'm playing those characters. Finally, EQ2 decides to make a Paladin have the true prestigue of a Knight, and all people can do is [expletive ninja'd by Faarbot] and moan about it. The speed boost that the Holy Steed gives is not great in comparison to a normal run, but at least it is somewhat realistic. My only question is, do Paladins ever gain the right to have a "Sir" title? This seems to be the next step to solidify the Paladin persona.QUIT WHINING PEOPLE. EVERY FREAKING BOARD HERE COMPLAINS ABOUT BEING "GIMPED" COMPARED TO OTHER CHARACTER CLASSES.So, what classes are really "gimped" then? NONE! Yes there are some kinks for each class, but mostly, everyone just screams bloody murder over something that their character shouldn't have in the first place or should have but doesn't, and act as though it is a do or die issue, when it really isn't.Let it go people. You want a Holy Steed? Be a Paladin. If you don't, then quit [expletive ninja'd by Faarbot]ing about it.

<DIV>One thing most ppl dont realize is that paladins get one less combat art/spell than the rest of the classes, at lvl 22.6 we get blinding light and at lvl 23 we get smite prayer, both these arts do EXACTLY the same thing and they share the same reset timer, so effectivly its 1 skill for the price of 2, and hence we get one less skill than all other classes, so our fluff skill is slightly usefull and this just ballances out the paladin to have the same amount of usefull skills as other classes, so all classes stop whinning or we will start whinning till you lose a skill, how does that grab ya ?<BR><BR><BR>also scouts are the only class that can cycle the HO wheel to a different HO, but since i cant do that they shouldnt be allowed to either WAH WAH !! take it away please !!!</DIV>
<DIV>Why do people hate us so?</DIV> <DIV> </DIV>

<DIV>If I could just get a horse, I have recently hit level 20 and trying to figure out how to get a horse without paying 2 plat. for it. I read on a forum that if you see the trainer on the hill in NQ near SQ entrance you can get a book to scribe for 17 silver to get a horse? Ive looked endlessly for this trainer with no sucess, is this true if so, do I have to do something else prior to seeing him? does anyone know this trainers name? Please help fellow pally....</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>any info would be much appreciated!!</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Khub---lvl 20 Paladin (faydark server) </DIV>
