View Full Version : Do healers have higher chance of agro depending on vacinity to mob?

<DIV>Was with a lower lvl Templar the other day, and my husband a mystic.  Husband rarely gets agro, but he does old school in that you stay as far back as possible within safe means from the mob the group is fighting.  The Templar was melee right next to me sometimes right inside me (that's just freaky to me on a small scale).  I realize her healing methods are different.  A straight out heal rather than a ward, but she got agro quite a few times during the night.  I switched redemption from my husband to her, and she still got it.  Was wondering if the nearness of being near a mob still affects the possibility to agro just as it did in the old days before healers could fight and cast?</DIV>

Did the templar really get aggro that you had to take back with Taunt/Shout/Inflame or did she just get hit a few times? Standing in front of the mob, what she did if its true she was standing IN you at times, will most certainly result in a few hits. But about that long range thing: Could be true. Haven't seen myself many templars in melee range to mob. But I never had aggro with them at any time. Worst aggro nickers for me are any scout class, their dps is insane so they get a lot of aggro. I usually put my redemtion on the highest scout class in group. Spell gives me good aggro like that so my healers never get whacked <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> Watch those scouts!! hehe ...

<DIV>Distance from the mob has made no difference in aggro for me (37 Templar) but position will. Standing in front of the mob you will most likely get hit. With barrage, you will get hit if you are anywhere in front of the mob even 10 feet away or to the side of it.</DIV>

<DIV>Correct.  The main healer should stand at 4 o'clock or 8 o'clock if the mob is facing 12 o'clock.  Leaves 6 o'clock open for the scout and 3/9 o'clock for the paladin.</DIV>
