<DIV>A guild mate - Kirran 18 Brawler on Mistmoore - got it on a mob last night and offered it to me.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Huge jump in damage and heals.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Very exciting, but more important then the damage or heal, I wanted to thank a great guild mate for a generous offer.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV>

<DIV>I've always like the idea of this spell - doing melee dmg while giving back health.  </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>This is interesting.  A big question mark for me is the usefulness of upgraded early and teen-rooted spells as you advance into the 20s and beyond.   Is anybody going to be upgrading Kick, Toughness, Taunt etc into the Mastery level?  Does Mastery even exist for these?  These haven't been in my hotkey bar for a month and show grey, green or at best blue at lvl 21.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Maybe SOE should just cap these early spells/CAs at Adept 1 so there is no confusion about upgrading obsolete spells and wasting coin.</DIV>

<DIV>In all honesty I dont see why you would use Taunt or kick anymore anyway. Inflame is a higher ability and on the same timer as Taunt. Charge is a higher ability with a stun and on the same timer as Kick .... just my 2 cents but once you get something of higher level on the timer of something else ... just dump it ... unless of course you truly fell in love with it.</DIV>

<DIV>Taunt (especially upgraded) generates more aggro than Inflame, doesn't it? I use it a lot more than Inflame. There's not the word "slightly (increases the hate blah blah..)" in the description of Taunt.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Toughness is very useful though it lasts only a little while. It has saved my 19th crusader many times.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Kick is OK too: when I'm waiting for the rest of the combat arts/spells to replenish I can use Kick and get 20+dmg more, with only a little Power drain...</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I say keep ALMOST all of them in your hotbar. Being usually a main tank myself I haven't had much use for Offering of Armament, so that's one worthless spell unless you have a higher level tank in your party...</DIV>

<DIV>Inflame is better than taunt.</DIV>

<DIV>I use kick while I'm waiting for the rest of the crap on my hotbar to clear, and I use Taunt for HOs, since it's less power but does the same damage.</DIV>

<DIV>Kick is replaced later with Charge....Taunt by Inflame, thing is a new Orange con skill isn't always as good as the old Green con.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Back on topic, congratulations! </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>How much Damage/Heal does the skill do now? :smileytongue:</DIV>

Agreed. I'm lvl 22 and don't use Inflame at all, even at Adept I. Simply too much power used, when I can use Taunt instead for much less power and have no pblms keeping aggro with everything else I do. Maybe at higher levels I'll need to switch over, but for now Inflame is useless.

<DIV>I'd love to know how much this heals for.  I was so excited to get it at lvl what 17 or so?  Then when I did, I saw very little significant change in my health bar.  I even have it upgraded, prolly only app3 since I find adept1s so rare unless it actually drops for me.  Even after the upgrade I saw very little to no difference in my health bar.</DIV>

<DIV>Oh my God, I am so jealous. I "LOVE" this ability. One of my faves. Great damage and a weak (but still useful) heal on yourself with a wonderful power cost. Definitely one of our best skills.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Please tell us the dmg/heal you are getting off of it when you get the chance. My adept I version does about 70dmg/35 health (ballpark off of memory).</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> <DIV><FONT face="Comic Sans MS" color=#330099 size=4>- Bladezilla Killa -</FONT></DIV></DIV>

Kinda bummed... this ability is replaced at 29 with Blazing Faith... a better attack but NO heal component. I really liked the heal part... but approaching 30 and 24hp heal just isnt cutting it.

Actually Blazing Faith does have a heal component, but just like Faithful swing, its pathetic. 28 point heal at level 29 with Adept 1 Blazing Faith, and just like Faithful Swing, the damage on the swing is subpar.

Honestly if it's taking that big of chunk out of your power then you need to upgrade some gear.

<DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I don't get this infame/taunt difference, and I really need to understand it.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Is using an "Orange" spell always better than a grey spell?</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Also does'nt the level affect it? I have taunt appIII (grey) and infame app1 (orange) so which is better and how am I suppose to know.</DIV>

<DIV>I solo for most part and combining Fighting Stance and Faithful Swing heals me close to 40HPs. That is a BIG deal. Especially since solo battles last longer. With a 10 second recast time, you might use it 8-10 times in a fight. Thats 400 hp healed. </DIV>

<DIV>I just dont get it.  Why the heck are you all complaining?</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>At L21 I use faithful swing all the time.  At Apprentice 3 it does 25-50 damage and heals for 18 for eighteen mana.  Add the 9 heal I get from Fighting Chance I heal close to 30 points and get a 25-50 DD.  Tie in a taunt and you just healed 27 HP, did 25-50 damage, plus the HO for 40-100.  Not a bad deal for 30 mana, specially when you get that 30 mana back in the tic it takes to pull this off(try eating the right food instead of that free cleric <A href="mailto:cr@p" target=_blank>cr@p</A>).</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>So once again, what is the complaint?</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV>

It's not that it's too big on power usage, it's the simple fact that the power saved by using Taunt in battle (and for HOs) can make the difference between using an extra attack or two, which could make all the difference. Again, if you're having trouble keeping aggro then Inflame would be better. I personally have not needed it, so to me it's just a waste of power.

<DIV>what are we looking at for Average heal/per use?</DIV>
