I am level 19 and decided to go ahead and start the Hallmark quest to become a Paladin. So I kill the 25 gnolls (yawn) and go into the valley to rescue the hostages (yawn) and I kill the green-- mobs (yawn) and hail the hostages. Hmmm...this did not end the quest. Wait a second...the other mobs in here are grouped and con yellow or even red to me. They don't expect me to kill those...do they?Well with no other readily apparent options I fight a mob of 3 yellows and they hand my a** to me on a plate. I don't see the result being much different if I were level 20, so I am convinced that I am missing something. Can anyone advise? Thanks.

<DIV>You don't have to kill them. Just get to the hostages, break down the fence and follow them out. Watch agro and be careful not to engage any mobs that will be too tough.</DIV>

<DIV>Heh, I had the same problem, except I'm just 18. I thought maybe one of the pack leaders had a key or something I needed, so I pulled him and his posse. Ouch.  Anyway, just find the gate and dismantle it quietly (I dunno what happens if you picked the top one, someone said something bad happens, so just do the second one a few times untl it opens).  Then find the dwarf and you're good.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>(Edit) Er, oh, guess you can do either then.</DIV><p>Message Edited by Deltree_c on <span class=date_text>12-08-2004</span> <span class=time_text>10:43 AM</span>

<DIV>As a paladin You dont have to but best choice would be Break the Berricade down. Since we are knights of virtue and light we will not hide our actions nor doing discreatly. I did the top one and nothing happend. They started yelling and bowing down to me and dancing. Thats about it.</DIV>

<DIV>As mentioned before, you don't have to take on any of the high level mob, only the guards, then break the barricade. I spent ages running round thinking of what to do next, until I noticed hawl ruckstead (sp) beckoning me and quest finished. Was on the verge of tackling the white^^  mob.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>This seemed very easy compared to the Druid quest, through Vermin Snye. Quite funny watching them try and run through the snye pulling all the agro...lol.</DIV>

He he he I think we all died once trying to tackle the mobs there. But realize this folks: Paladins are Knights. Educated, refined, valiant, leaders, kings, warlords ect. Any fighter can rush in and attack the enemy. But we are noblemen, not commoners. Because we avoid a fight to save the prisoners doesn't make us chicken or cowards, it makes us "smart" <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> Intelligence is the mark of a great leaders and noble knights. Anyone can be a brutish fighter who swings his sword before asking questions, but us Paladins are above that. The honor in any situation is the success of the solution, not how many or how fast you kill <img src="/smilies/283a16da79f3aa23fe1025c96295f04f.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />Think like a Paladin, not a Warrior <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />Valoric Soulseer - Level 22 Human Paladin - Permafrost Server

Ha ha ha...very good question. So, that would really make you a Shadow Knight, but just because you are evil doesn't mean you won't have the same "honor" attached to your class. Technically, SK are Lawful/Evil characters. So, according to the D&D base of logic, Lawful/Evil characters are the types that are "bad guys with honor".They are loyal to their evil warlords and respectful, to a degree, to other evil characters. They follow a "Thieves Code" or the like. You also are "smart", more than just a grunt that is sent into battle. You are the ones that SEND the grunts into battle <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> You are the Generals of the evil armies. You are the Lucan De'Leres of the world <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> No mere warrior. You won't "lower" yourself to their level just because you are evil. You have honor. Otherwise you would just be Nutral/Evil (stab anyone in the back to serve your own interests regardless of their connection with you or your order) or even Chaotic/Evil (phycotic(sp), crazy or "carefree" character who will do whatever, whenever just because they feel like it or because they want to go against the "norm" just for fun) in alignment. Your alignment dictates that there are rules that should be followed to "better" the cause <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />Good luck.BTW, if you are now Good due to betrayal quest, then you now must adhere to "Paladin" standards (no real difference from SK other than alignment <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />Valoric Soulseer - Level 22 Human Paladin - Permafrost Server
