<DIV>Best weapon you can get of an npc in Qeynos will be the carbonite broadsword, you get it from Jack O'Rielly(spelling?) a weaponsmithjust to the left of the clocktower in Qeynos Harbour</DIV>

As a devout 2h person since I solo it would be nice to be able to use a heavy hitting sword (I think it was just accidently left off vendors but that's just me) but I am forced into using "great hammer of stormhold" until players can start making the carbonite great sword or I level enough to use the next grade up in great sword which does exist on npc vendors.

Anything with "forged" in the name is crafted. Will probably take a 25+ weaponsmith to make them, and it'll be hard to get pristines before he gets closer to 30.

<DIV>I think the great sword is over rated really.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I ran some numbers on a forged pristine carbonite great sword vs a forged pristine carbonite [Removed for Content] sword and the result was the [Removed for Content] sword seemed much better in damage per second.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>This does not even take into account that the [Removed for Content] sword is a lot faster so that equals more chances for glourious weapon to proc and misses will hurt less than a miss with a great sword.</DIV>

(the eq2 main database only shows delay times in whole numbers and I found 3 different set of stats for each weapon depending on the website you visit). </DIV>

Not everything with the forged in the name is player crafted. If it's player crafted it has to be Forged. it has to be "Quality of the item" "Item" Forged... You'll see a lot of Steel Forged whatever and those are not player made.I like the Carbonite [Removed for Content] Sword More so than the greatsword but I want my long sword for my tanking darn it <img src="/smilies/9d71f0541cff0a302a0309c5079e8dee.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />

What I did do was get Berrik's sword of thunder which I I think is a slightly better option for us till 30.</FONT></FONT>
<DIV>Well after using a skullcrusher for awhile I am back using my Greathammer of Stormhold. I gave it a try but I don't notice that much difference using a shield but I do notice it takes longer to finish fights using a 1 handed weapon. So unless I'm grouped it's 2 handed weapons for me (the harder hitting the better).</DIV>

<DIV>which sheild do you use? i notice a huge difference when i use my shield <A href="http://eq2players.station.sony.com/en/item.vm?itemId=3747" target=_blank>(ancient kite shield)</A> my health pool barely moves. the fights take longer with my skullcrusher, but i can kill harder or multiple mobs that would generally kill me if i wasn't using my shield. </DIV>
<DIV>I use an ashwood kite shield which isnt that far below an ancient and it helps but not enough to make the longer time to kill something worth it since I solo. Maybe if you are usually buffed or have better equipment than I do maybe the extra ac makes a big difference. All I know is if I take on 3 or 4 green grouped skels or yellow solos I have a much better chance at winning or keeping a larger portion of power after a fight. </DIV>
