Our purpose?

Can any high level paladins from beta tell me, in raids etc were you used as main tanks? Or just off tanks? Do paladins get much better as levels go on, or are you just gimping yourself by not being a guardian? thanks in advance!

<DIV>From what I have seen, the Paladin is not made to be main tank but they can, the best part about A Paladin is that the are a great support class to the main tank, we get so many AC and Dmg wards that we can make the jobs of everyone else easier, also that fact is that we can wear heavy armor and do get some pretty good DD spells, but the fact of the matter is that Classes in EQ2 are usually made to do one specific job, but that of a Paladin can be many different, as a main tank if you like that roll then go Gaurdian, because of the defence and taunt ability, but if you want a class that can be expanded apon and bring more job profiles to then go Paladin.</DIV>

I hardly ever have problems with my duties and usually don't hear any "You suck" type complaints. I have been a secondary tank and find that to work very well. In some cases with me as a back up assistant tank we've been able to take groups out with just one healer. With me firing off the heal and ward it helps out a little on the work of the main healer. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I think on the high end raids we're going to be in an assistant tank position since we have so many "help out another tank" spells and abilities. Until 50 though we should be fine as the normal tank, they did a good job on the archtypes doing their proper jobs aspect of the game.</DIV>
